I was going through some of my old HO stuff recently; and I found a pack of WS HO scale dry transfers of road signs and Burma Shave signs. My layout is set in the 60s, so I know that I can't use the Burma Shave signs, but could I still use the traffic signs, even though I'm in N scale now?
I have a rotary tool that's sold under the name TIM ALLEN SIGNATURE TOOLS (no; it's not made by BINFORD TOOLSsign1) that I bought from e-bay. But the only problem is; it came without accessories (I bought it that way because the guy told me that they're easy to get). But, they're not!! Anyone...
Does anyone make ties for this? I cut a tie off the end of a length of it; and it fell in the trash. Needless to say; it's lost.
If noone makes them; no biggie. I'll just use a piece of styrene or cut a tie off of a piece of my Atlas track.
I want to glue some things to my layout; but have them be removable. Things like track through a bridge, roofs on structeres, a bridge on abudments or trestles, etc. Is there a glue that stays tacky no matter how long it remains on a surface?
I recently came across some dry transfers of these that I had bought for my HO layout; but never had a chance to install them before a sudden move forced me to disassemble it and start over in N scale. So, the dry transfers are in HO scale, would I still be able to use them on my N scale layout?
can I use this to glue itself to itself? I have an Atlas bridge that I accidentally broke off one of the trusses. I glued it back on, but I accidentally broke it off again at the joint?
or should I use CA?train97
I just tried to use a bottle of CA glue for first time since I bought it; a year ago. However; I found it had hardened in the bottle!!:curse:
Is there any way to salvage it, or do I have to buy a new bottle? And how can I prevent this from happening?
there is an article on the trains.com website about applying drywall compound to a building to repressent stucco. Has anyone tried this? If so, can you apply decals to it?
can I mix together two different brands of acrylic paint? For instance, Polly Scale & Badger "Model-Flex" or Liquitex tube acrylic and Model Flex? Or do they both have to be the same brand?
I'm in the midst of assembling a WALTHERS double-track truss bridge, but the peices are so warped, I've decided to give up and get a new one. I've been looking at the KATo bridge, as I've heard good things about it. But the only problem is, the track is in it already. So, is it easy to remove...
I heard that if you spray the wood peices on these with dullcoat before assembly, it prevents warping. Anyone ever heard of this method? Do you spray both sides, or just one side?
...anyone ever bought anything from them? I saw a couple of their kits on E-bay and am thinking about bidding on them. What are they like? Are you satisfied with them?
