    Animated Peanut Butter Lid Diorama

Hello there. It's been a bit since I posted what I am doing at my bench. I figure I should post what I am up to with regards to my PBL attempt. I'm sorry if this turns out to be a bit long winded, but I am a terrible editor and don't know what to leave out. I'm not sure if you know this, but I...

    My Wife Has a Question

Hi all, this is TrainClown's better half. I have an idea of creating a forum for the spouses and significant others of model railroaders, or modelers in general. I was wondering if any of your "better halves" would be interested. What do you think, ladies? Best Wishes, Mrs. TrainClown...

    Flexable Arm Clamp

I was impressed when I read a post by Dave K a.k.a. rrkreitler on RRL forum called "N Scale Diorama Construction Thread". Here is a link to his thread. http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10558 What impressed me most, besides the level of excellent N scale modeling, were...

    Back Woods Water Tower Kit-bash

When I was at the train show a few months ago, one of the things I bought was a Campbell kit of "the back woods water tower". I decided to use strip wood to replace the corrugated tin. I really like the tin and want to save it for other more worthy models. Also, I got a bunch of strip wood...

    Someting odd is going on

We have 2 TV sets. One in the living room and one in the bedroom. Often, when my wife is in bed and I'm scooting around, we have the same station on and I walk back and forth and watch both sets. An odd thing is going on right now. We are watching the news, and the set in the living room is...

    MasonJar's Visit To Regina

Well, the phone rang the other night, and it was our friend Andrew (MasonJar). He was in town for some biz stuff and didn't have much time to spare. We agreed to meet after dinner the next day. With not much more than a couple of hours, I arranged to go to the best LHS. A place called VIP...

    A Temp-Low question

I bought this stuff at the LHS tonight. It is called Temp-Low and is a low temperature lead casting element. Has anyone used this stuff for casting parts? I would like to cast parts with it. In rubber or plaster. I would appreciate any info you have on the use of this stuff before I go get all...

    Farm Machinery Dilemma

I'm building a farm display. This is not going to be a running layout, but more of a display because I got some diesel equipment that I can't run on my turn of the century logging layout. I also think the whole farming thing is fun to model as I love old barns and old farms in general. :thumb...

    Train Show Booty

I was at our local train show last weekend, and I was ready for some deals. The pickens were slim, compared to last year, but I did manage to get some stuff I can use. I got a nice model of a branch line water tower. This comes with a whole whack of congregated tin for the roof and the shed...

    Regina Model Train Show

Howdy. So last weekend was the model railroad show for Regina. All in all I didn't think it was quite as good as it was last year, but there was some stuff to see. Here are some pix for you to see what modelers are doing in this part of the world.

    Switchbacks for Thought

Hello there, fellow train brains. Seems I just don't have a lot of room to build a decent layout. So I've decided to build some smaller layouts that I can move around more easily. So I like mining and I like logging and I like the idea of building a switchback railroad. This way I get lots of...

I think Rube Goldberg designed this bridge

Either Rube Goldberg designed this bridge, or they built it out of all the left over parts they had cluttering up the yard. I've never seen a bridge like this. I was doing a puppet show at the 15 Wing air force base, just south of Moose Jaw, and there it was. In all it's weird glory. :eek...

    A real nice tressal bridge

I was out by Moose Jaw the other day and came accross this. Isn't that a plate girder section in the center? This would make a nice model. TrainClown ;)

    My Christmas in Sleepy Cove

I went to visit my friends in Sleepy Cove and got there just after dark. On Christmas eve you can hear hymns rise over the silent snow from the church. They got some nice stained glass windows in there church. The rest of the town is still in the fresh fall of snow. Not everyone is in...

    Upset with Search

Sorry to be a drag, but what has happened has been a drag. So I logged on today and went to the "New Posts" link and was pleased to see there was 62 posts since my last visit. I only had read 3 of them when my wife asked me to make her a cup of tea. So I turned away from the computer for a...

    Unknown Track Device

So I was down at the CN yard up the street the other day and I noticed this strange device on the track. It is on the spur that the engines are stored on. I have my suspicions, but could someone please tell me what this is for. Is it just to lock the track or is there more to it. Here are a...

    Track Checker Car Idea

Hello all you train nuts. Merry Christmas! :D I was surfin' the net and came across this idea. Seems a real good idea to me, so, of course, I wanted to share it. It's a special box car, modified to be a track inspection device. If your having trouble with yer trackage, then one of...

Rock Walls for Fish Tank Project

So, if you don't know, I'm building a display for an old fish tank to show off some of my engines. It's a small tank, only 5 1/2" x 19" x 8". It has a dust cover with a light, so it's perfect for a display. :thumb: I started with a wood base and built up a back wall and raised the back...

    Jewelers's Last and Modeling Tray

I do all sorts of different stuff at my work bench, so I made myself a tray so I could remove my projects without disturbing my work. I made it from a piece of 1/8" hard board with a 1/4" pine edge to help keep small parts from taking a hike.
