Millenium Falcon from Shinuchi Makino - building thread

is this model available yet? and if so, where can it be found? I love how this looks ( the whole Falcon, not just the dish. )

No thanks needed. We are all brothers here. I'm sure you would do the same.

I really like your work. Be careful, people will start bombarding you with requests!! :)

To be honest, the square one makes more sense. Looks like a side array radar.

If there is a time or interest on my site, why not;), but I have already too much on my workbench. I thought it will be fast one evening work. I was naive like allways:). It will be to evenings for sure, maybe three :).

Square one deffinitely makes more sense, but when you see round one on Falcon for so long ... old habits die hard:).

Many things to do before the dish will be build. So some new pics from the falcon.

I wish I would be Rhino modeling machine:). Took me too much time for my taste for so non complicated model.

Well here it is:

When Starbuck (or anybody) assemble this and verify everything is ok, we can post it to Resources section

Dear bigpetr, thank you very much for the template.
I have already printed it out. And be sure I will (try to) assamble the dish. I will sure give you feedback. It really looks perfect.

Thank you:), I am looking forward to see it placed on Falcon. Hopefuly it will look good I tried to match Shinuchi Makino graphic style as close as possible.

If I would follow the instruction of Sinuchi Makino exactly, I would not do the dish right now, but.........I jumped directly to your dish. I could not resist.
First parts assambled.
As you can see I split the backside and the front side of the parts, as I find it more easy to glue togehter and to cut out later on.
For the dish the fold lines might be helpful to show.
The bars are hard to cut out exactly. Maybe it would be more easy to separate the grids and to glue them together later.

In the middle of the grid I added an additional double layer to have a stable base to keep the grid away from the dish.

Yes, I would do the same, but I draw it this way so one can have a choice:)

I do not include them intentionaly. I find them distracting.
But I can add them on separate layer so you can have choice to switch them on or off.

Good point, I will do it.

I thought about that but I hoped that grid will be strong enougth and hold OK. I will add that.

Thank you for your findings so far.
