I hope you haven't lost me. I needed a break from building the model. The first attempt to assemble the docking corridor failed. I assembled it exactly according to the instructions, some of the parts, not in Ken's opinion, were easy to glue on cardboard. Due to this, the docking and assembly was not very good. I decided to glue absolutely all the details on cardboard, this gave the best even shape and ease of assembly. Those who will build be sure to pay attention to this point. The corridor is glued only to superfluid cyanoacrylate.

Slowly I continue assemble the parachute compartment.

Absolutely all elements were reinforced with a layer of thin cardboard. I did this first for painting, so as not to impregnate such large areas with superglue.

Pre-assembly for airbrush painting. For this I use aviation gray color.

Trying to fit the battery in one of the parachutes, sensor button and charger will be installed in other parachutes.

But I will have to repaint the crew compartment in the same color. In my opinion it doesn't look very good.

And I want to know your opinions whether it is worth repainting or so visually better divided compartments. Wouldn't it look boring if both the parachute compartment and the crew compartment are the same color?

Are you going to add the outer skin? If not, then by all means add the thermal insulation. I would keep the base colors the same, or just a shade different to show different batches of paint being applied.

I'd add the thermal insulation. I'd try and make the cover. or parts of it removeable. It didn't go together in one piece. I wouldn't worry about the color variations either, NASA didn't. ;)

I revised several options: thermo blanket, sunscreen for a car, construction insulation. Everything is not suitable for the scale, either too thick, or the texture is too large.

Stopped on aluminum tape. I decided to try to wrinkle it, on a native paper basis, after a very gently pasted on a thin sheet of paper. And made a trial fitting on dry. Tomorrow I will print on the usual printer inside wall parts, and cut new parts by guidelines.

@micahrogers Yes, the outer skin will be removable.

Now it remains to find the same yellow tape and improve LM

Completed gluing thermal insulation. With Tamiya XF-1 imitate black tape and modified the parachute compartment.

I made a preliminary tape on paper only for the sections where the windows are located. For all other sections, I glued the tape without paper, immediately onto the model, and cut it in place.

Added plate to which the safety cable is attached. Some devices on the left, and the cable itself.

I used a steel cable because I didn’t want to paint the copper one. With difficulty gave it shape. The cable protector was made of heat shrink tubing. I also added some of the wiring that I could find in the photographs and 3D models.

The instructions for this section are not very informative. And I want to show how to assemble parachutes.

The first problem I run into is the complex shape of the parachutes. The paper does not really want to keep its shape, due to this the assembly becomes even more difficult

Just like all the other parts of this compartment, I glue thin cardboard from the inside. This gives a more rigid structure that holds its shape well and is much easier to assemble.

The outer wall of the parachute is particularly complex as it is have many parts and has a double curvature. The whole part is assembled with small pieces of paper, glued from the inside.
