You are off to a good start with the Galactica.
I started to make the Galactica (from Blood & Chrome), but I when I moved back home (to the US), I had to leave all my models (both finished and WIP) in Eastern Europe. The good thing is, I can rebuild my entire collection with the level of detail that I wanted to do in the first place.

    KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

Whatever your reasons for having to leave your models, really sorry that happened. :( But, you are right. The beauty of these paper models is that they can be built again ( that's so much part of the fun). I thought I might enjoy looking at the ones I have already built for a while, then give them away to my nephews or someone else that would appreciate them. & then build them anew & better. I wish I could convey somehow to all the designers of these models how much I appreciate their work & making them available at no cost to us (except ink & paper). I have spent a small fortune on plastic model kits over the years, so discovering the community of paper modelers has been a welcome change. :)

I had to leave them there because of the cost of shipping was too high.
I fully understand. I am the same. I have given many of my models away as gifts and presents to friends.
I too have had many plastic models over the years. I have to say that I like paper models more than plastic models. You can find more sci-fi models in paper than you can find in plastic.
I am glad that you have joined this forum. I hope that you enjoy yourself here!

image.jpg image.jpg I haven't been doing a whole lot of building these past few weeks. But, I have been slowly working on Jaybat's Galactica. Sorry, I haven't taken any build pics. I wasn't planning to post any pics of this build, but it's such an awesome design, it's all coming together better than I'd hoped, & it will look great in the Galactica Fleet :) I still have to finish up the starboard flight pod, as well as the lower starboard engine & both upper engines. Hope to post some more pics when I get it finished. I am still slowly proceeding with work on the 3 foot Galactica, but I'm not quite ready to post any new pics. I think the 3 footer is going to take me quite a bit more time.

I am finally proceeding with both the Geminon Traveler & Celestra builds. I've hesitated because I was in a hurry when I first started them, & I made a few mistakes. If you've seen some of my earlier pics of the Geminon Traveler, the seams on the bow from my build left a lot to be desired. & for the Celestra, I also had some issues with the forward section that I wasn't happy with. So for both models, I've printed off some extra parts, & my previous builds are now being demoted to greebling parts. I think I'll reuse the cockpit I've done for the Traveler, I honestly don't think I could do much better with my arthritic fingers for the cockpit. I wasn't too far along in either build,so it's not a big deal. I think the end result will be worth it. The more greebling I can do, the better, right? image.jpg

image.jpg I know it might be premature, but I had to post a pic with these 2 together. Jaybat's Galactica & Pegasus. Both in the same scale, though my pic sizes are a bit off. These 2 models just go together!

    Chad,

Glad to see your posts here after your hiatus. The Galactica is looking SWEEET! I've got to build the Geminon Traveler - what you've done so far looks sharp!thumbsup Like the Celestra as well. Although I'm still working off and on on the Defender and after that probably an astro racer or two.

    Thanks for sharing Chad!

Take care and have a great day!

I've been working on the Geminon Traveler this evening. I started with a new template & am going to use what I've previously assembled for greebling parts. I just wasn't happy with some of my seams. Anyway, as I a assembled the fuselage for my newer build, I decided to glue some foamboard to the inside. I figured it would give it more support when I started adding greebling parts later on

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Decided to make my own tabs this time around. For around the cockpit & the prow. Hope they work out.

image.jpg I think the fuselage buttoned up pretty nicely, I do still have some fine tuning around the edges to do. Adding the little foamboard panels I think will beef it up pretty good too. Now to move on with the engines & some greeblin'! :) Trying
to stay hooked up on this model till it's finished. Hope to post some more pics in a few days.

    Chad,

So the model got a little hungry there eh?;) Looks great!Claphands This will be a great model to greeble because you have some contrasting colors and whatever you see will certainly stand out. Those curved nose sections can be pretty tough and unforgiving sometimes, but you made it work well!:Bravo:

    Have a great day!

You are doing a good job with this model.
I could see putting more greebles into it, by making the printed texture into physical texture.

Thanks! I'm not sure how it's going to turn out. Hoping for the best, but I am experimenting a lot with this one. I just got the engines cut out, hope to have some progress on them soon.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Just a few pics of my almost finished model of Jaybat's Galactica. The glue is still drying, & I have yet to clear coat it.

Thanks! I think I still messed up pretty good a second time on that front section though. But, I think I can clean it up with a little patience. It won't be my best model I've assembled. I've had some frustrations with it, not from any design flaw, but from my own fumbling fingers. :( I'll keep posting progress pics though.
