Here is were I will be posting all the freight trains I build and take pics of. Hope you guys enjoy this thread as much as I will. I am going to try some different things with the angles and haveing some traffic building up and passing as the trains go by. I also want to try and be shooting pics of a train while another freight train passes by.

We will start off simple with a UP/CNW mixed goods freight train with just a simple black backround and no traffic passing. This is a LONG one, 41 pics!! Some of the rolling stock has been weathered and some hasnt yet. This train includes some of my new cars too like the BNSF gondola and the 2 BADX 62' tank cars.

coolness! I only have one suggestion. The Athearn Sunshades suck. for a few dollars, you can by a set of 6 of them in brass from A-line, and adjust them for the right angle ( instead of sticking straight out).

these look a billion times better than those plastic ones. All you need is a pinvise, and a drill set that has atleast a #80 (which is the size of grab irons) and up, as well as some pliers, and the correct paint. I installed them on my GP-7, and i'm planning on putting them on some of my other locomotives as well.

Also, i think some of the parts are attached wrong ( looks like the CNW units were previously owned, lol.) might want to remove the head lights and sandfiller hatch, then re-install them from the inside like they are supposed to be. lol, it reminds me of my first kit, it was an AMD103, and i did the same thing!

there's some NICE pics in there Josh!:thumb:

as far as the sunshades go, you've seen enough pics of my engines, most of the sunshades on mine are home made from styrene, couldn't tell could ya;). sure brass sunshades are nice, but its cheaper to make your own, just a thought. i don't have any dummy engines, but if i did, i would put the sunshades on some of them in the "fully down" position, check out pics of REAL engines following the engine on point, you see that a lot;).

looking forward to more pics!:thumb: :D -Deano

Thanks Deano. Im going to find some proto pics right now and I will think about scratch building them too. Sounds simple enough.

O and no, I couldn't tell about the sun shades, but now I know.sign1
