*******************************************************
Charlie:wav: , THANK YOU! , i hope to be around a little more often soon, word is were going back to 9 hour days at work after the first:mrgreen: , that will give me a little more time:winki: .
Tom:wav: , THANKS!
Deano, can’t remember having seen this RSD-15 on your layout – I love the long "nose".
Kurt:wav: , that engine is the FIRST BLI engine i ever bought:thumb: , I've had it for a couple years, and posted it a few times:winki: . though its not a UP, its one of my top ten favorite engines:mrgreen: .
Deano, the RSD-15 looks like its painted for LS&I. I like it.:thumb:
Kevin:wav: , GOOD EYE:thumb: , YOUR 100% CORRECT, that engine WAS an LS&I for a period of time:winki: .
MY STORY ON GBW #2407...
GBW #2407 now resides at the IRM:thumb: . I was fortunate enough to have been in the cab of it:mrgreen: , though for the last couple of years the cab has been closed to the public:frowns: . i go to the IRM EVERY YEAR, and like an old friend, i really enjoy seeing this unusual/unique engine. below is a pic of it i took last year, and also the plate that hangs on the side of it. i really hope you folks can read the plate, that engine has a neat history and is worth taking a second to read about it:winki: .
GBW(was an ALL ALCO RR) bought #2407 from LS&I with big plans for using it on there longer runs, sadly the engine was so wore out they only used it on a couple short runs, and for switching...the engine sat in the yard for most of the end of its life:frowns: .
BLI put out GBW #2407 on its first run of the RSD-15's, and when i seen it i just had to preorder one to ensure I'd get it:thumb: . since i have visited the REAL GBW #2407 for years, having a model of it really gives this engine sentimental value to me, i would NEVER part with it:winki: .
