    Russian pre-dreadnought "Peresvet" [Orel 24/07,1:200]

Subject of this preview is Russian pre-dreadnaught "Peresvet". In russian it is called "eskadrenny bronenostes" which can be roughly translated as "armored ship of the line". The model is one of the latest offerings from Ukrain-based publisher "Orel" and is in rather usual scale 1:200. Designer...

Good god, Nobi. Your effort to embody some of the overlooked types of flying machines is truly outstanding. Good job!.

    Halinski 1:200 HMS Hood Build

It is nice to watch your progress, you are doing nice job on this old model. Even in model form it IS "mighty" Hood ;) As for the quality of Halinski's design... Few years ago i had started HMS Warspite and it was dreadful. I never finished it.

    DKM Emden, Modelik, 1:200

This came with my latest order just few days ago. I am biased towards british stuff, so most german ships don't look very... erm... beautiful to me. But this one has WWI look, which is a definite virtue. Anyway, back to kit. While in the colorful Modelik's booklet it is tagged as "nowosc" -...

What are you working on NOW!!?

I'm currently working on 1/50 IAF Avia S-199. It's a repainted model of Czech Avia by Marek. I bought it few years ago originally intending to repaint as IAF bird. Only some time later did i realize that Marek has IAF version readily. Anyway, this is my second attempt, as i wasn't happy how the...

    Gundam Papermodel

This looks like "Orchis" part of "Dendrobium" system from Kidou Senshi Gundam 0083 Stardust memory. You might call it "support vehicle", i suppose. But you might as well call RX-78GP03S Gundam "Dendrobium Stamen" as a mere control unit for "Orchis" ;)

    HMS Repulse, Fantom model, 1:300

I edited my first post, because you can see many beautiful pictures of built model on Artur's own webpage www.fantom-model.pl It also includes several sample images, including decks with that nice wood discoloration effect that i mentioned above.

    HMS Repulse, Fantom model, 1:300

Hi, Artur, First of all, thanks for great model. Some time ago on this very forum i expressed a wish for Repulse, and there it goes! As for the scale, buying digital version from Gremir is one option. Alas, i don't have PayPal account so less acceptable, but still an option, is to scan...

    HMS Repulse, Fantom model, 1:300

Not a week ago i received this model and since i craved for Repulse for long time, i decided to dedicate my first preview to it. "Fantom model" is a new publisher, again from Poland. The scale is rather unusual - 1:300, but level of details seems to be excellent. It consists of 14 pages of...

    Ambrose lightship (Digital navy, 1:250)

Thanks, Jim. And thanks to everyone for your kind words. It was enjoyable to see this ship finally done. But it's even better to see, that others like her too ;)

    MM 1-2/2004 Cutty Sark

Very beautiful build indeed. Your work made me to rethink my wishlist and move this particular model closer to it's top ;) I also agree with Your point of view regarding sanding and painting hull. I don't see a point in making a cardmodel and then hiding it beneath cover of paint.

    Ambrose lightship (Digital navy, 1:250)

Barry, i did soldiering only for main "spars" of mast tops. I used thick (approx. 1mm at this scale that is) copper wire and it shows in picture as the thickest parts. All the thinner parts are made from stretched sprue, using some CA and lots of swearing. Railings are made from stretched sprue...

    Ambrose lightship (Digital navy, 1:250)

Thanks, Lizzie. Rigging might not be completely accurate, since i had only several reference photos from internet and those were obviously taken not by modeller ;) besides, on the real thing railings have some kind of meshes, but i decided not to replicate those. The model itself has some...
