The drivetrains were completed:

DSCF4087.jpg

The glue must cure completely before the drivetrains are attached to the main body.

In the meantime I went to my local PC shop (the one I got my new printer from) and asked for some spare cable wire. Luckily the assistant had one available and gave it to me for free. His name was "Marcel", BTW. A proof that we Marcel(l)s stick together! :Drinks:

Two 10 cm long pieces were cut off.

DSCF4114.jpg

The back side of the head has several white marks which indicate the position of the wires. The original kit provides two flat U-shaped pieces of paper for this, however, real wire looks much more authentic.

The marks were cut and widened with a rod exactly like on the fingers.

The cables are inserted.

Glue was not required, everything fit like a glove. :)

Looking absolutely amazing!I would just put a tiny dot of super-glue to stop the cables falling/being pulled out :)

@Cybergrinder : Trust me, they are very tight! ;)

@Rhaven Blaack : Thank you for your comment. However I facepalmed big time:

I attached the neck before the legs! :bulgeeye:

So I was unable to lay the body flat on the ground to glue the legs into place. Ah well. Problems are there to be solved. I took a cardboard box stuffed with old newspapers and put the model inside. Then I attached the legs and left everything to dry over night. :)

Congratulations Revell-Fan, very nice and clean build. I love the solution for the movement of the arms.
I too have this little guy on my TO DO-List. I will keep your solution in mind when I'm building mine.

Thank you so much for sharing this idea.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! :)

You might save some work by using magnets and metal sheet: Put the magnet into the small shoulder tube and glue the metal sheet behind the printed rail inside the torso boxes. I would have done that if I had had the time to order the materials. Since my deadline was very tight I chose a much more difficult way but a way that I thought would definitely work. I didn't have time for experiments and used whatever materials were available. In addition, you may choose this way if you don't have a chance to get some magnets. ;)

You take what seems like the simplest unworthy looking model, and make it come to life. Absolutely excellent!! :)

Hold on - there is something missing:

BEAUTY PICS!!!

Hello, my name is Wall-E.

DSCF4121.jpg

I am a waste robot from the Buy'N'Large company and have been assigned to clean up Earth for the last 700 years.

DSCF4122.jpg

I love cleaning. Because only a clean environment is a good environment.

DSCF4123.jpg

A long time ago there were many robots that were like me.

DSCF4124.jpg

However, today I am the only one still active.

DSCF4126.jpg

Let's take a look at my job.

DSCF4129.jpg

Alright, here we are.

DSCF4130.jpg

Every day begins with some PE.

DSCF4131.jpg

Because moving prevents your joints from getting stuck.

DSCF4132.jpg

Sometimes I find strange things left by the people who once populated the planet.

DSCF4133.jpg

Like this funny stick.

DSCF4139.jpg

I like the colour.

DSCF4140.jpg

I'll put it in my archive.

DSCF4138.jpg

This chip belongs to one of these old cameras.

DSCF4139.jpg

The case has conserved it.

DSCF4136.jpg

I'll examine it later. Sometimes they contain funny things.

DSCF4141.jpg

Not all human inventions were useless.

DSCF4142.jpg

This one suits me, doesn't it?

DSCF4144.jpg

Many people wore these things. Apparently it was fun looking at your surroundings through a colour filter.

DSCF4145.jpg

Hasta la vista, Baby!

DSCF4156.jpg

DSCF4157.jpg

I can't bend it!

DSCF4158.jpg

Hold on - what's that?

DSCF4159.jpg

GRANNY!!!

DSCF4160.jpg

I missed you so much!

DSCF4162.jpg

Please take me in your arms, just like in old times..!

--- WHOOPSIE!!!

DSCF4165.jpg

That was NOT the plan..!

DSCF4167.jpg

Help!

DSCF4168.jpg

HEEEELP!

DSCF4169.jpg

Phew, upright again.

DSCF4170.jpg

Let's see what else is going on.

DSCF4173.jpg

Hardware Pong.

DSCF4174.jpg

Pretty much useless if you don't have an opponent. And a bat. Fortunately I have got a never-ending supply of bubble wrap at my disposal.

DSCF4176.jpg

I love the popping sound they make when you are driving over them.

DSCF4179.jpg

However, I need some energy now.

DSCF4181.jpg

Dawn is coming!

DSCF4184.jpg

Oh, there is a power station over there.

DSCF4185.jpg

Hey, do you have some power for me?

DSCF4186.jpg

Oh my, I feel dizzy...

DSCF4187.jpg

Well, that's it for now, guys. I hope you had a good time with me. Tomorrow the sun will shine again and I will be ready for duty. Maybe I'll find someone to play with then...

One day later...
