Thousand Sons

My son is a HUGE WH40K fan, and has invested a GREAT DEAL of money into his collection. I have built a couple of WH40 paper/cardstock models for him. He is amazed with what all can be done with paper/cardstock.
I love being able to do this now moreso because it lets me using my brain in a way I don't normally do. In all honesty this is now the more valuable option with respect for both GW and proxies. GW models are lovely but now I question if I would want to pay for another one of their models, maybe one. This has me learning more than plastics do. I hope he doesn't feel like his collection is devalued in any way. You get a quality product that takes it's own skill to create into a good looking product. I find myself using more mathematics and studying models in scale and dimensions for this task.

I seriously doubt that paper WH40K will deminish the value of the GW models. However, I do feel that paper WH40k brings more people into WH40K as a whole.
As for designing more models, if this is something that you want to explore more, I would suggest reaching out to a fw people that might be able to help you with learning the programs and different techniques specifically for designing tempaltes. These people are:

Working on details. In reviewing the knee area I've made some alterations here to show for a proper jointed look in exchange for the spaulders I drew last time. I think I might make glue on spaulders. It probably doesn't matter so much because most of the details will be covered up but I can't just knowingly omit detail, that kind of thing bugs me so much. That's why this has taken so long, that, and simply finding time to do it.

Nice glad the flipping worked.
Thanks. It took me a minute to remember what to do in the app. It works out pretty well. I just create a duplicate layer of the page and cut out what needs changed and the rest gets scrapped, then I can take what's left of these new layers and flip them, reposition them or do whatever I want. When cutting things out of the main layer it reveals a black background so I just copy a portion of white paper and paste it over black spots that crop up.

Manufacturing complete. Errors within acceptable parameters. There was an oversight in how the Icon of Flame would affix to the marine with the Soul Reaper Cannon. I did not foresee the headdress would overlap with that piece. With the head glued on, I could not change its attitude so I opted to cut off the Icon and place it on my other guy. I am happy with the results. Now the way I see it, the cannon rubric can be posed facing the side or front to allow for the Icon of desired, otherwise it can be added to another rubric. There was another issue with my understanding of how the arms are placed. At first I attempted folding their top joint 180° to attach to the body, but folding to this degree provided less surface area to glue, so I folded the second arms top joint 90° and glued it to the pauldrons which in turn attached to the body. This provided an easier adhering process.
