Yes. I'm mostly following some templates from Jim Bowen and Dsin Zdan. I've taken the templates from Jim's intercessors and Dsin's rubric marines and have traced them out, then modified them by hand. I follow a process similar to welding if you think about it. I'll place a template down and hold my pencil over where it needs to be, remove the template, then mark out the details, kind of like when you stop between raising your welding hood. A square is used for corrects and finer work. I'm referencing pictures of models for alterations to the templates. For example, I've traced Jim's gun arm and bolter then remade some parts based on the official models firearms. The same process was followed for the power pack. I've taken both Dsin's and Jim's designs and combined them, then referenced the model for alterations.I see what you are doing. You have this built in your head. Some steps will be hard to post.![]()
Haha I suppose that'll do the trick. I just use my ruler.I used to use a round pizza cutter to scribe long lines on paper, when tracing.![]()
Of course. Some other things are less measured out done by free hand like the many flowing lines trimming the armor. I think it perfectly reflects tzeench anyways to show ever-changing patterns on his soldiers. Perfectly imperfect. Admittedly I do wished I could make for tidier looking work. My pencils seem too broad at times.Thank you for this inside view how you design your creations.
I might eventually try something like that. Right now this is all I can muster. Planning to scan this somehow so I can then use it and alter as desired.Looking good, now try a blender to even out the color... a Prismacolor blender
