Thanks. It is indeed my first ship model of that size. The mini sloop did not need any reinforcement. This model is not easy as it needs certain parts reinforced, and unless you have built many ship models, you won't know where to do this. Your reinforcement of the deck with corrugated cardboard was spot on. That helps the boat keep it's shape. I think you are doing a great job on this model. You are past the hard part, keep on keeping on!![]()
That's true. But it will probably take some time to build that again. There is a long list of models I want to build. I got quite addictThat's one of the biggest advantages of paper models: You can always print and assemble another.![]()
What is crazy glue? I thought about applying my fast glue on the thread. Because I used that to fix the thread in place to the small posts and rigging bases. There the thread hardened with the glue. But i'm not sure if that would have worked with the whole length and if it would keep the straight shapePaint that thread with Crazy Glue and it will not sage or stretch. It will look great for years.![]()
Ah yes, I think mine is also cyanoacrylate. I think it's always that in fast glues/ super glues, right?Cyanoacrylate Super glue Glue, probably called "fast glue", not sure what country you are from. Anything that will harden and seal the thread will work. The next boat I make, I am going to use some old Violin strings I have laying around. I would also paint the rails of the boat with the glue, because they warp in time from moisture. Anything that is one layer of cardboard will get soft from moisture if not sealed. I sometimes use Balsa wood for these parts, or bent to shape "paper clips".
