Dr. Tetrode - Valkryie Build II - attempt with color.

I like the result very much! The pictures do not look too bad. They have a certain "behind the scenes" look to them. The model is sharp and clear and 3/4 views are there. So, not too bad. :)

None that I can think of atm. However, if you crop the pictures you can lead the focus onto the model and remove a good portion of the background. That might improve them. I constantly do that and if the cardboard in the back is insufficient to block everything out of sight I smudge it over the edges in Gimp to extend it. Here is an example:

Monochrome background plates are easier to handle because extensions don't require the clone stamp, just smear it from the inside outwards to cover up everything that doesn't belong there. Make sure to blend everything smoothly to avoid harsh transitions which may give away the editing. Always work with a copy to be safe, you never know when you need the original again. ;)

Use a sheet of ultra fine sandpaper for the road, paint a white double strip, and the texture for the road is fantastic.

This model cane out so great, I'm sorry my friend, but it's time for you to step up your game.

I would like to give you some suggestions, but not till I get your permission, we could do it in P.M.s. It has nothing to do with your build method, which is excellent, just some tips on how to make it a bit better so is really super "pops" out. The model is excellent as is, now to movie into model miniatures, suitable for stills or movie use.!! ;)

Hi Zathros,

Thanks for the complements and encouragement! I enjoyed putting this one together. I HATE unfinished projects.... ;-)

Yes, you have my permission for critiquing and giving better ways to do things. I made plenty of mistakes on this model, and I know it! A lot of experimentation on the edge coloring that did not work as well as I had hoped, is one of them. And yes, I was in kind of a little hurry to get if finished, so some things did not work as well as I had hoped.... So, if you have suggestions, I would love to see them, and I think this kind of discussion would be good for others to see....

Scott ;-)

Revell-Fan,

Agreed on the techniques with GIMP. I just put my raw pictures in the forum, have not tried to do any modifications to them... ;-) May do that in the future...
