This is the V12, mostly my own design engine I have decided to go with. See, I am still working on this. This motor has 5 hrs, into it so far!! Double row chain drive for the dual single overhead cam shafts, enclosed water pump with mechanical drive. Electric Fan in Radiator (Not shown yet). It will have a dry sump. and minimal plumbing outside.

I worked on the engine for almost 4 hours yesterday, making sure each part unfolds as I went along. I save every 3 minutes because sometimes I work fast. The program locked up, and it didn't save sh*t!! I was back to where I originally started, which then gave me a whole new set of ideas, and now I have gone a completely different way!! Same basic block, but the Intake will be nuts!!!
How many times I had to redo a work because the PC crashed and I didn't save!
If I remember to save 99 times, you can be sure that the PC decides to freeze the 100th, when I forget to click that damned floppy icon!!! And that 100th time the work was going so well that I continued drawing (or writing or whatever else) for hours and hours! And I was saying "look! This time it's going really good, really good!!!"
No rule for this. It's one of the many Murphy's law that really happens in everyday life and there's nothing to do!

I know. Funny thing though, when I started out again, it took me 15 minutes to get what took me hours before. I guess because much of the design factor was done. I also realized I needed to go a different route, so it worked out better in the bigger picture.
Any new news Zathros? I'm looking forward to your coupes. I tried again over Christmas to purchase a 1/12th scale plastic model of the 1937 Cord. Found out that there were two releases of the kit. One made in the 1980s cast in yellow and 2nd one in the 1990s cast in burgundy. So far both are too expensive. Maybe someday someone will create a paper model of it.

The Cord is also one of my favorites. Truth be told, if we had talked before, I might have tried that, though with the compound curves, it would be a challenge.
I haven't given up on the coups, but after working and finishing the motor, my program crashed, and though I saved every 15 seconds, I really lost the whole damned motor. So I have decided to go for a straight 8 or 6 cylinder, keeping more with the looks of the car. I was going to do a Chevy 350 V-8, but decided a Hispano Suiza straight 8 or 6 would be more fitting, in more ways than one. I am trying to get data on that, but then the "Universal Carrier Mark III" post came up. One of my favorite all time armored vehicles, sorely unrepresented, as it was the most produced armed vehicle in WWII, and I have that now almost as far along as the coupes, I just have to start crating the surfaces, and to be honest, this will be easier to design, no compound curves, and not having to pay a fortune for the one presently out which isn't sold in the U.S. anyways, (that's why I don't scare if people build scans of Halinski's,or GPM's, Gelli's, that whole lot that won't sell their wares to the U.S., so why not build the 600 d.p.i. scans of these models?) I am not the only forum Admin that has this attitude either. If different with ECardmodels, anyone building a scan of what he caries gets the boot, Chris Gutzmer sells them cheap enough, but after hearing what he would have to go through to sell just Halinski, forget it, not worth it).

After checking out the plastic models of the Cord it would definitely be a challenge to create in paper. I think I may have finally found an affordable plastic model of it. I'd still like to build your coupe when you get it finished. Hoping to find several 1930s-1940s style coupes and sedans to build in 1/12 scale to use for a large scale diorama I'm working on.
