Finally the wings have been mounted. I noted (obviously AFTER gleing the after a lot of dry fitting) that I did not get the printing scale right and the wings are some 3mm too long. I attendey my local copy shop where I printed the model but unfortunately they had a printer service and the colors did not come out the right way so I decided to keep the wings mounted and book this effect under "learning and doing not the same mistake again".
I tried to cover the wings up a bit with the fillets. Well... If you are more than one meter away it looks good

Next step will be the razor edge on the wings...


At least every model of mine has small errors... I hope that I will be better someday

You couldn't tell by looking at it. Depending on where the center of gravity is now, you may have to make adjustments, if you are planning to throw it. That would be insane, of course.

I am not really planning to throw that model but to be honest I thought about upsizing and converting into an electric ducted fan radio controlled jet.
The base is great and the textures can be upsized as well without looking too blurry... Just a thought

I have been looking at Micro servos as I may make my version of Tonino's Balilla R/C control. I will make the frame first, then re-enforce it with much Crazy Gel Glue, there are many places to hide batteries and only a throttle control box that connects the steering servo, lots of small Lithium Ion batteries for those beautiful lights Tonino made. I'd want it to look like the car, but have no R/C stuff visible.

Well Zathros, you are absolutely right! Admiring own work can be satisfying. Just sat there with a glass of wine, looking at my proud bird and listening to the "Top Gun" Anthem...
Life can be definitely more worse than this *gaining selfconfidence*

Good for you, and the wine is not lying. I don't see why it should not fly as a R/C model. Remember, with Delta wings, they must fly in a slightly pitched up attitude because of the negative pressure on that long leading edge. If the wings are laminar flow, and symmetric, the angle of incidence must also be raised at the leading edge by a few degrees. Set up properly, at speed, one should find themselves having to prevent the nose from rising. Ducted fan, or prop in the arse. .

I am going for the ducted fan as usual when I am building jet models. Do not like disturbing props on jet planes Have to finish some other projects first

Good to hear from you. I was thinking about your saying you wing was 3mm too long. When I worked at Sikorsky Aircraft, I found out the every Blackhawk is within 1 mm of overall length. I thought that was an amazing tolerance on such a large helicopter, but tolerances are kept tight, and it shows even with tolerances in the +/- .005" inch, you still accumulate accrued intolerance. Of course, the pics below are my favorite "Black Hawk" (S-67). It could carry 8 fully armed soldiers in the back of the fuselage!!
