As we all know, @Revell-Fan created a great template for the Battlestar Galactica Power Sled (Chariot) back in 2012. I conducted the original beta test build of the Power Sled in that same year.
Here is a photo of the original.
Power Sled.jpg

@Revell-Fan had been (painstakingly) revising the template and essentially making it more screen accurate. Since he has now finished the initial revisions, I am now conducting another beta test build (not only that, since I have already build the original model before, I will be going through and augmenting (and greebling) a few components).

Starting off with the main body section.
Assembly set one.png

Here are the parts for the main body section. As you see, there are side pieces and internal formers (I did add another set of internal formers). I took the liberty of laminating the side pieces and the formers to (roughly) 1mm.

I attached the side pieces and the formers.

I connected the top and bottom pieces.

Thank you both for the kind words and encouragement.

Great start, pal! I never noticed how much this looks like Santa's slay - until now. ;) :D
Too right you are! It does indeed bare a slight resemblance to that of the sleigh of good old jolly Saint Nickolas. All that we need now are 12 reindeer and we are set for the YULE.

Do to design spec and scale issues as well as a few changes that had to be made, I am starting over with the PS project. With that being said, Once I start building, I will catch up to the last photos posted and continue posting updated build pics as I go along.

As mentioned earlier, I had to start over with the beta build, after a few changes were made. During the time that the changes were being made, there was quite a bit of research that was being done to make certain that everything was being made as screen accurate as possible. However, with that being said, there were a few minor changes that were made due to creative licensing (due to either not being able to distinguish what something was, how it was constructed, or just the simple fact that we threw caution to the wind. Either way, you can decide which is which).
So, (after conferring with @Revell-Fan) I have decided to (essentially) start from the beginning and chronical everything that has been done in this thread. With that being said, shall we jump into this once again.

Starting with the main body of the Power Sled, I printed the template twice (for the extra parts). I laminated the formers and the side pieces to (roughly) 1mm. I attached them to the inside of the top body plate.

Great start #2! :) Two of the biggest changes are: The chassis was prolongued and the complete wheel box and motor block were changed. Yesterday I noticed another glitch in the first design which requires a new alignment of the sprocketed wheel. Everything will be done on-the-fly. Stay tuned! :)

It is time for another long awaited update.

This time, I am focusing on the instrument panel, seats, light tower, extra levers, roll-bars, and the back walls.
BSG Power Sled Build Section 3.png

Here are the parts for the instrument panel.
20211019_114401.jpg

The instrument panel is assembled. I have raised the rows of lights as well as attached all of the individual switches.

20211020_173417.jpg

The instrument panel is attached. T
*NOTE* These next few photos also illustrate one of the changes. As you saw in the starting of this thread, there were seat mount plates. They are no longer included, as they raised the seats too high.

Here are the parts for the seats. Yes, they are a bit fiddly. However, if you take your time, they really are not that difficult to make (even at 1:50 scale).

Moving on to the light tower and the extra levers.

Here are the parts for the light tower (*SPOILER ALERT* Yes, the light bar will rotate).
20211021_105007.jpg

Here is the rotating mount system. I have laminated parts 1b twice (the parts are two layers of cardstock for added strength), and 1a three times (the parts three layers of cardstock. This will insure a tight fit, whilst still having enough room to rotate freely, and not wobble.).
20211021_144849.jpg

I partially assembled the tower and the bar, so that I can connect the two components with the rotating mount system.
20211021_150852.jpg

20211021_150927.jpg

The light tower assembly is complete. I raised the black area around the lights and recessed the lenses.
20211021_151359.jpg

I attached the roll-bar mounts.
