I decided to make a CP designed station for the corner Ntrak module I am making to take to Val's BBQ next summer.
The station is based on the old CP station located in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. Now that's a mouth full for anyone.

I start by making the form out of corrugated cardboard.

How do you do it? Man, I try to do some basic structure out of cardboard. How do you spell DISASTER? Yep! Didn't work at all

But you.....holy! You're good!

Hey, Matthyro
thanks for the idea! I am about to start scratchbuilding (styrene) the Gorham, New Hampshire station, ex-Grand Trunk, for my SLR layout. I have been trying to figure out how to make the two-pitch round roof for the front of the station where it is curved. I am going to try your method, with a bunch of shaped formers, then cover them.

Thanks!

Fine to have you back, Robin, with yet another great project. The outline of that station looks very promising!

And as it seems, you are already in 'Full forward' again! :) :) :)

I was trying to come up with a better way to make windows. Not sure if I saw this idea somewhere but here goes.
I start by cutting out the windows in a section of cerealboard.

I glue the paper strips to the back of the windows allowing about 1/32 of an inch to show around the edge of the window and 1/16th cross bars .

The windows with white framing is the end result, ready for glass and or blinds or curtains.

I like this method because the window framing is neat with straight edges.

Progress

So many other things to do these days like raking leaves, raking leaves, raking leaves. Do they ever stop falling? Problems when you are surrounded by these magnificent maple trees.
This station has lots of windows.
Here is a view from the front.
