You started a very good thread indeed, Jimmy, glad you did!
Well, I gues I should tell my story... I live in the old stomping grounds of the old Monon Rail Road, the Hoosier Line! (If you're on dial up you might try This Hoosier Line Link which should open twice as fast). I'm from Rensselaer, Indiana, which is very near Monon Indiana, where the Monon's two mainlines cross. Well, I named myself jon-monon, in anticipation of becoming a Monon freak. I even set up the Jon's Unofficial Monon Rail Site
~ and other Little Goodies ~ website in said anticipation. I even went out and bought some Monon stickers. BTW: Shamus, you will get a sticker in the mail soon, and you should stick it in the window of your car, then people from all over the world will ask you, "What the hell is a Hoosier?" then you can hand them a copy of hte article I linked. Anyway, all this effort to become a Monon freak, and thus a hoosier freak, and NOTHING! I'm still just me! I'm beginning to think I'm not really from here. Maybe I should take up shooting hoops. Maybe I was adopted. Or planted by aliens. Maybe I was born in Iowa. Or at least conceived there. That's where my parents come from, scrathing head, a little math, yep, summer 1963, they musta been on one of their long teacher vacations visiting granny and bang, heeeeeers Johnny!
