Good morning webdude,
would you give permission to show your screenshots
of the Cars-feature film models in my German Cardmodel
forum www.kartonmodell-forum.de ?
Would be great and many of our members would love these . .
Best regards

Hello Thomas!
Certainly! Post some screenshots for your members and link them back to this thread for updates. I should be back at work on them tomorrow.

Best regards,

Rick,

regretfully I'd to place the following comment in the referring post on
our forum:

Mike, you're right about the link back.
But me and Frank-Michael explained several times why we cannot post
links to cardmodels.net.
Rick Steffers should be well aware of this special german legal problem
(§§ 86,86a and 130 of german penalty law).
If the "link back" is constraining, I will better do without
these screenshots. Pictures of "Cars" and link are deleted preliminarily.
The thread will be closed shortly.

Sorry . . .

Best regards

Thomas,

I am not aware of what German law says, if you could enlighten me, and others, then we can avoid confusion in the future.

I have not seen an explaination as to why you do not link back.
Neither from you nor from Frank-Michael.

I've a feeling it may be the swastika law.
I know there are a couple pictures, if not many, on this forum that have a model with a swastika on them. For Germany, one is one too many.
That symbol is forbidden and, maybe, by linking here it is like they are accepting or condoning the use of that symbol. Additionally, by linking here, it is almost like they are just putting the symbol up for view on their own site by providing easy access to it.
I am only speculating and I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong.
Also, this is a very serious and sensitive subject and is not taken lightly.

Being an admin for a WW2 game forum had issues because the game dev's had to remove all swastikas from the game even though the game was focusing on accuracy. But they had to go in order for the game to sell in Europe, primarily in Germany.

It's laws like this that keep the stigma of the war alive. Germany will never shrug of the pains of the past and it's sad that the first thing future children will think of when they think of the country Germany will be that it's the country that was an Axis power and not look beyond 39' to 45'.

Jeez I just think of Bavarian Motor Works, Architectural Wonders and Luscious Mountain Vistas. ;) ps. Vroom!

Thomas,
Understood. When they're released I believe you'll find my website does not violate your country's restrictions and is ICRA, ICSS and Safe Surf Rated as "Child Safe - All Ages" Internationally. I'll be more than happy to make a formal announcement and invitation to download the models from my site on your forum at that time.

Please, enlight me here. What if I take a finished model of a german WWII plane - swastika in it - and go to Germany, and put it on display - among other models - at my borther house? (My sister in law is german and they are planning on going to live there).
Would that be also a matter of penalty?
