where the temp is 47 deg and headed to 50 plus today. The snow is melting and they say we may hit 60's tomorrow, then by Sat. we will be back into the 20's.sign1

Last night we did the framing and put the tops on the tin plate layout for the museum. Tomorrow night we will put the legs on it and primer paint. Then we will be set for the OTTS work day on Sunday. Then we will be laying down the track and wiring it. What great fun :D .

Gil - hope things start going better for you. Just count to 10 first.

I shall take your advice Tom.

Here is how that all turned out.

I bought an "as is" K Line switcher, CSX, and cars from a guy on ebay.
It was the only train item he had on several pages of glass and plates and general ebay crap.
So it was clearly stated it was untested and sold as is. That made sense.
That is a red flag generally when a seller has a whole page of train items for sale and claims he cant test them but this one time I figured it was safe. The engine was fried like a skillet of donuts.
After a nasty exchange of emails (mostly on my part, he provoked me), he agreed to a refund. Said there was no call to be a profane jerk (my words)
I decided not to send it back, I got it at a good price and had a plan. Besides I have been lusting for a cheap C&O or Chessie diesel for a while.
I stopped in at Main St.Trains on my way home from the V A hospital this afternoon and Jack found two such engines in the back and with a little coaxing a GN switcher limped around a test track. He offered to me for $25. I ran it a bit longer and the more it ran the better it ran and I took it home. The idea is to switch shells, repaint the GN and make it into a dummy.
Great! I stopped at radio shack to get a fuse holder for my new KW, please no applause, rushed home, headed for the kitchen table, set the engine and other stuff down, emptied my pockets and turned around to take off my shoes when THUNK!!! I fell backwards and I knocked it to the floor and into a half dozen pieces.
Someone come here and take my shot guns away please. It is open season on morons in this house tonight. Or maybe I should just go shooting with Mr. Cheeny and take my chances.

where the temp is 51 deg and headed into the 60's with rain and T-stoms and high winds on the way. Better than lots of snow  . Come Saturday, we will be back into the 20's. And so winter goes on.

Gil - hope you didn't hurt yourself when you fell. Does sound like a very bad week, sorry to day. Good thing is next week has to be better :thumb:

To night we will be putting legs on the museum tin plate layout and primer paint. Then it will be ready for laying track and start wiring.

where the temp is 32 deg and falling into the 20's, with light snow falling. At lest the high wind gust are over (up to 60 mph) and so is yesterdays high of 62 degs.

Gil - I have always had better luck prunning my grapes in the early spring.

OTTS update, last night we mounted legs (yes Chief - legs) to our tin plate bench work. Then we added a primer coat of paint. Next we have to bolt them together and level it. So we will be set for Sunday’s work party of laying track and wiring.

Chief what is the population of your town, how many police and fireman do you over see?

Get any work done on the green house?

You 'maters remind me of a storry, this blond gal wasn't haveing any luck with her tomatos. Sick of green ones all summer she got on line on an all natural, organic web site looking for a solution .

She posted her problem on thier forum and someone recomneded gardening at night naked. It seems they thought the maters would be imbassed and blush, making a crop of lush red fruit the next morning.

The next day she logged back on and someone ask if the nocternal au natual garndening made the tomatoes ripe. No, she repied but my cukes grew 4 to 6 inches.sign1
