Excellent shots. Doing the bulldozer shouldn't be too hard with the new Norscott 1/87 diecast models.

    Blocks, buses, DCC, help!

Glad to hear blocking is not necessary. I just spent two evenings thoroughly cleaning the track and treating it with Zip (or whatever it is called). My cleaning car had pulled some ballast onto the rails and at first I thought that was my problem, I cleaned that up by hand and still had...

    Blocks, buses, DCC, help!

The current MR has an article about improving performance of your layout through the addition of buses (14g wire under the track, spliced into the track at specific distances to reduce voltage drop). I have a rather large loop of track and my DCC equipped engines do run slower on the far...

    Adapter Harness for DCC Socket?

It seems that MRC is no longer supplying decoders with the 8 pin connector on the ends of the wires (bummer). The new decoders come with the flat connector that plugs in to the decoder and has the wires hanging free. MRC was kind enough to send me some 8 pin plugs but my soldering...

    Give this a wack:

The back will be up against a wall. The left side will have access. The notch along the top right before the curves go to the top is the 20" thick rock wall of the basement. I should cut out some scale sized cars and push them around on a print out, shouldn't I? (or reduce the daily put...

    Give this a wack:

I put the storage track in b/c the prototype near me always has a bunch of cars stacked up on a nearby siding. I didn't want a double loop around the back b/c of the hassle of getting to it. (Advice I picked up on the Gauge:-) Thanks for the encouragement, this is the first time I've tried...

    Give this a wack:

My plan is to have a turn around for my HO layout in a separate room from the rest of the track. The notched out portion of the design is the rock wall I must cut around to get into the other room. To put the space to work, and to show off the layout, as this will be the first thing viewed...

    Photos of Flat Car Loads

Thanks for the info, don't fret, that's what this is all about. I bought some ugly aqua colored paint and some styrene tubes, no time yet to work on it, maybe soon. Still looking for more. Feel free to include shots of your model flat car loads as well.

    Day on the Toledo Sub

Again, great shots. Keep postin', I love lookin'. My favorite on these is the UP with the flag and fogginess. Somehow the charcoal grills add interest too. I had undecorated dash 9 on my layout, I painted it UP with the flags. Your proto looks much better than how my first custom paint job...

    Frieght

Great shots. I love CP stuff - thinking about putting a couple of SD90Macs on the HO track just to have them pass through. Do you have any pics of them?

I like those pipes too. It hit me as I was looling at them - model the rusted edge and visible interior and it might take on a very real appearance. ???
