Wooden Matches

MSH, When I started modeling about 35 years ago, I did the same thing, bought wooden stick matches to use as lumber, and after all these years I still have the box I first bought. Only a few matches are missing, used them to light candels when the power would go out!!!:eek:
 
Just thought of something - don't wooden matches (or at least some of them) have wax or something on them that makes staining them difficult?
 
i used shamus's plans and it worked for me i made mine out of a doll house my mom gave me that she bought a couple years ago all wood and now i don't have to go to the hobby shop and buy my wood hee hee hee i buitl the jig and i can make it as tall as i want and i started on a curved one two weeks ago it's around 30 inches long and rises 1.5 on a grade it starts at 1 1/2 inches and goes to 3 inches high
