Having reel vanes on the engine intakes really makes the model pop. It's these small features that make the sum of the parts greater than the whole. So much greater the whole model becomes and there's only one way to get there, as you've shown us.

It is time again for an update on this project!
Here are the parts for the landing gear and landing gear bays.
Starting with the wheels. I decided to see if I could greeble the wheels. I took two sets of the wheels and laminated them to 0.5 mm thick. Then I took on set and cut out the axel post and the tyres, and laminated them over the other set of wheels so that I go the required 1.0 mm thickness needed.
While the wheels are drying, I assembled the front strut. As you can see, I raised the joint bracket that connects the strut to the skid.
I added the wheels.
I attached the skid plate
Here are the rear struts. I raised the details on the sides of the struts and the rear hydraulic bracket.
Both rear struts are finished.
On to the landing gear bays.
Here are the parts for the landing gear and landing gear bays.

(*Word of warning* If you wish to tackle this (like I did), you will need a very sharp, fine pointed blade and some serious knife skills. It is very tedious work.)
Both landing gear bays are finished.
The landing gear bays are attached.
The landing gear is fully attached.

GREAT WORK! I would push the tip of the left cannon a bit outward, just a little bit.
A masterful work! Excellent work on the landing gear and everything else!
Now don't forget to take pictures, especially of your friend when he gets the Viper. I want to see the look on his face! And pictures for your media gallery!

It was a fun and enjoyable build! I have to say that there were a few areas that challenged me and helped me improve my skills, as well as make me think as to what else can be done.
The answer to that is quite simple. Recess the panel lines. Detail the landing gear a bit more. Add lighting (which I need to relearn how to do that again).
