I have to agree with dnalor there Silver, those access panels look fantastic, you are bringing this one to life.

Been busy with a couple of other vipers, but I will be back soon with more build updates. Here are a couple of real life Vipers. The ones indicated are my grandsons, and no, none of them are named Starbuck or Apollo. The pink shirts are in support of breast cancer aware week. You know, UHU has been so detailed minded in the building of this Viper, that the plans can actually be super-sized and a 1:1 can be made possible. Now where can I find some trylion fuel for it?
Thanks for the comments on the Viper baseball team, my grandson was not amused when I refer to them as the pink ladies or the Hello Kitty team. He looked at me like I had three heads, "It is for breast cancer awareness month Grandpapa" he would politely remind me.
Anyhow, when I upscaled it, I did it by eyeballing the pages and did not use the Gimp program for maintaining the ratio equalized. The fit is close enough but there are some parts that I have to trim or add to it to make them fit. If I were to have made it as intended, I would not have been able to slip the skin over the framework. UHU did not allow for tolerances and it is a very tight fight made for exact measurements. In spite of that, it is still coming out as planned for a diorama set. Enjoy and see you all soon with more updates as I get some time to build. See you all around the forum.:thumb:

I am envious, in a good way, that my present situation has not allowed me to build any models, but I am vicariously enjoying the works of all of you guys, it's truly wonderful!!

I myself tried to assambe the UHU viper. I managed to do but not as perfect as I can see on the photos of the other buildings. Thanks to all who give detailed information and pics - they were very helpful.
My viper is without landing gears - as the are alway flying their patrols

@starbuck: Hey, that's number 2! Congratulations on a very fine build. Don't underestimate your build; she looks beautiful! :thumb:
I only need to add the flaps to the tool room door and make the instructions for the door to finish the parts for the hangar bay section dio. After that I will return to my bird (and my special dio..! :twisted
(BTW, if someone is complaining about dents, smudges or anything like that on a BSG model, I say it's BATTLE DAMAGE! The more the better! :mrgreen: )

Well one way to achieve the space problem, is to build in microscale, that way, you can store the models in a shoe box, as for myself, I cannot build that small, it hurts my eyes.
Thanks, for the kudos. I am still working on it and getting around some fit issues that I created myself, but it is coming along nicely.

You are welcome to use the build tread as a reference, in order to make a great model in which you achieved that great result with your viper. The CAP is always out taking care of the fleet but you may want a pilot in the seat, or maybe this Viper is turned into a pilot-less drone.idea1
Good show on the grease monkeys, I will be there soon with my build sequence on the figs. Tiricks figures are one version that I am working with.
Well, it has been a bit slow going for now but the project continues with more build ideas. I made a drastic error in the intake fan ducts, I glued and set them upside down, but it still gets the results needed. For some reason, some of my photos came out darker than usual. I hope that the light senor is not going out on my camera. I hate to use flash. It is either that, or I will have to construct a light source for the photo shoot. Enjoy and keep the vipers coming, I am almost to the end of this project and then on to the hangar and the accessories that go with it as well a the figures. OK, here we go again! (FINALLY! :thumb: )
First of all, we need GUNS:
The parts are wrapped around each other to form a tube with increasing diameter from front to back. I deviated from the original plans and wrapped the first tube around a wooden rod to increase stability and to make the rolling and shaping easier.
The other layers are attached according to the master's plans. Apparently my paper was not thick enough to achieve the diameters required for the next layer. So I had to insert several pieces of scrap paper to make the upcoming layers fit as intended.
When everything was in place I made use of an old modeler's trick: I drilled a hole into the front of the barrel to create the illusion of an open muzzle. This hole is painted later.
BEWARE, m+++rfrakking toasters!!! :mrgreen:
