Nosey .......

I have at last got the internals in the nose complete. Building the thruster module on the front was a test of patience.
I used a 1.5mm piece of wire as a former for the rings. This wire also aided in attaching the rings to the module.....

The upper module complete. Since these photos were taken, I have cleaned up the dried, flakey glue deposits that you can see here.

THe rest of the parts for the nose are made up ready for fitting ....

The front thruster module is complete

Did not someone from the Ateam say "I love it when a plan comes together"?

Great work guys and Dan, my hat is off to you workingn at that scale. It looks terrific and you should not have any problems in finding miniatures to complement the build in a Hangar display. That is unless you want to build tiricks figures at that scale!

Here is my next batch of photos on the landing skids. I will probably get to work on the ammo trays, Those wing extensions are getting a beating and I need to stabilize them. Enjoy and see you all soon with more updates:thumb:

To all commentaries directed at my posting, Thanks a lot for the kudos guys. All of the Viper builders are doing a fantastic job as well. I just happen to do things a little different and so far it is working out.

I have been working a bit too much with this model and I will have o slow down a bit. I spend as much time looking and getting more references and my house remodeling is suffering a little. I am still working up ideas for the display in the hangar as well as the figures. If I had made it 1/35 scale, I would have all kinds of figurine choices. The flight deck crew for an aircraft carrier would have been great for the grease monkeys. I am still working with tiricks figures and modifications. The naked Viper is almost done and soon I will get around to the partial skinning process and modifying access panels instead of taking off a whole section of skin to show off the interior. Enjoy and see you all soon with more cool stuff. Keep up the work guys and I hope to see some Vipers in the repair shop soon from some of you.:thumb:

+++ German sitrep +++

I have finally made the third nose skin. Now the top RCS thruster holes are properly aligned.

However, when I attached the nose skin according to the instructions a gap appeared on the bottom. I don't know if this was caused by the upscaling but it had to be fixed.

To do so I recycled one of the previous nose skins and attached some new flaps to the cockpit tub skin as shown.

The flaps press the nose skin down and the gap disappears. Everything looks much cleaner now.

The tip of the nose needs a little surgery, that's why I haven't attached the red rim yet. In addition, there is still a little gap between the two skins which might make me build another (fourth) nose skin... Well, we'll see... :p
