Thanks for that, Skyseeker & Rhaven Blaack! No, the wife hasn't been very happy. But, she's getting there, with a brand new IKEA kitchen among several other "nest" additions. ;) (Trying to pawn the pets off on some takers,((3 dogs & a rabbit) but nobody's biting, JK, I love my doggies! :)We are about halfway through our remodel/move. Feeling like we're on the downhill side of it. I hadn't realized how many paper model parts I had cut out for various models until I started getting them ready for the move. I've found myself using empty Top Ramen boxes just to keep them all together. They are the perfect size. :)

You're doing such a great job on this fleet, really, could anyone expect you to rush it. No, take y0ur time, so you have what you wanted when you started out. The wife will be saying, "Look what my Husband made, isn't that incredible", to her friends and family, more than likely, you won't be around to hear it. I've been married 27 years and have experienced this quite often. Great work, man. :)

I missed it too, I found the pic in another forum. The director wanted to pay Homage to the Serenity series, and Movie, all which I thought was great! :)

Firefly & Serenity are in my top movies and show combos..
My op 6 shows are ...
1: BSG (ToS)
2: Star Trek (ToS)
3: Farscape
4: Babylon 5
5: Space 1999
6: Firefly
 
if land of the giants wasn't produced in the 197oish era, it would be a great dark serious show, maybe made in 1994? so many of these shows suffer from clownisms that should be removed, via commix, or cgi, or even a cartoon. I mean, bsg new series proved that. although I have recently watched the entire tos bsg and 80s bsg and like them immensely. but if there is a new lost in space, and a new star trek show, I hope they don't reflect the social BS that is going on right now, unless they distance it so much that years from now they wont be dated.
still think your efforts on these models is spectacular!

You have a very valid point. There are so many directors are remaking many older series into movies (granted, in my opinion most of them suck), but why not remake some of the older sci-fi series into a more modern conception that with a good story and special effects. For instance, I would like to see Buck Rogers in the same style as the new BSG (Grant, Farscape was suppose to be a modern version of Buck Rogers, however it is still not "Buck Roger").

It looks like you & I will get along wonderfully! That looks very close to my list. Though, to my shame I have never watched Space 1999. :( Seen some really cool paper models for it though.

As far as the new Star Trek tv show that's in development, I agree with you. I am holding my breath to see how it will turn out. There is so much crap (politically & socially)being forced on us through the media right now, that I've gotten to where I don't want to turn the TV on much anymore. I stick pretty close to my old favorites. & supposedly Universal is producing a BSG reboot movie. I'm just skeptical of it all these days. & I think Disney is just ruining Star Wars ( the original Expanded Universe is deeply ingrained in me,there was some really great work there & I did not appreciate it being poo-pooed upon!) & these new stories & characters are ok, but it's like somebody just pulled them all out of a sphincter far,far away.But, that's just my opinion. I'll get down off my soapbox now.

I love the 80's Buck Roger's series. It would be awesome to see a modern version. :) Can't wait to build one of the Thunderfighter's!

You can find all three (canon) versions, the "David Jones" Concept version, two fan-based versions (as well as cockpit interiors and landing gear) at http://www.paperaviation.de/

The last Console I owned and played was the nintendo 64.. I did try the Battlestar Galactica online game at syfy.com but that left alot to be desired.. Kinda like Star Trek Online game as well.

I just watched a few first season episodes of Land of the Giants, steve is standing there holding a twig for about 30 seconds while the flugal horns are blaring ridicules intense music, lol. classic 70ish tv. I think that's why I love it so much. the invaders is probably the most intense one. really good plots tho, I can really get into 6 inch people in a world of 72 foot giants, putting one over on them all the time, the value of people that the crew has, wanting to leave so badly, Fitzhugh was no Dr Smith, no matter what anyone else says. I love them both. apparently the ship runs on compressed hydrogen gas that creates a burning thrust when combined with radioactive materials. also some kind of anti-gravity field assist. makes my day. some episodes go a little too far, but for the most part, very intense, and very enjoyable. I have to agree about the forced flow of a narrowed universe on most of the stuff out today. I mean, Dr. Smith was pretty flamboyant for his day, even for today I doubt Target would let him use the little girls room lol. no slight intended, but the ease of flow is what I mean, evil villians or scardycats, it really didn't matter, they were great masters of acting and melodrama and the sets and effects still hold up today, in my opinon, oops I broke my soapbox this time!Tyrannosaur.jpg
