Silveroxide, from the picture where I see the main body I can see that you made a mistake when building it. It is the same I did with the Ultramarine Talon and that I fixed on Newobmij advice on the Blood raven (it is bad but I am happy that pretty much everybody is doing the same not just me).
The cockpit should be pushed back a lot more in the fuselage. Look at my version in the 360 you should find all the angles needed stormtalon spinand the GW version on their site (I think they have a 360 themselves, I have one in their digital codex)

Also I wait impatiently to see how you reinforced the fuselage and cockpit as well as how you'll do the clear canopy and the interior.
That fit problem is what I mentioned earlier. My mistake, was that I started from the rear instead of from the front. If I had done it that way, I could have adjusted to fit he center portion around the cab. But then, I can say that it has an extended cab. a "Talon LS", version
Because I added extra panels to the cabin, I made it very sturdy, one reason that I could not force feed it into the cavity. At the moment, I am done with the cockpit, the canopy and the bottom vector thrusters are next, but when I am done with the Talon, I will start with the Walker version,
So here are some photos of the other version of the Gattling as well as the new captions box. As mentioned earlier, it was a bit hard to read in the darker background.

This post is only for Zealot only, especially for Terrinecold. Here is where the Storm Talon is at at the moment. I have to touch up the canopy edges and when I get to this stage, you will get to see the technique for the canopy. I will make further comments when I get to this stage. Enjoy and see you all soon, There are a bunch of photos to edit until I get to these photos and then there will more, because it is still missing the missiles and the thrust vectors.

Of all the design for this project, the only one I could not use, were the vector thruster. I went and made my own and slightly modifying the ones from GW. The base attachment points came out rather well.
The second version of the Gattling is finished and both units are attached to the gun bucket. The pads for the landing gears are finished and painted.

And here are some more updates and photos of the Talon. As mentioned in the captions, I did not laminate the tail, because it would have been a bit tail heavy and cause a stress point at the joint with the main body. The tail ailerons, I did laminate to thickness. Remember to save the circle that was cut out of the gun tub, it will now come in handy and make a good stop for the swivel tube later on. Regarding the heaviness of. Laminated tail. What I did is laminate with foam board which is lighter than the same thickness of card.
I have used the foam core also. I did it with an older version of the Thunderbolt. (Not Eli Patoroch's) With the Thunderbolt, I did not like how thick the wings were, but on the Talon, it does call for a thick tail section. Imagination is the best method in building the models. I am pleased how the thruster are coming out but that will be way down the posting list. I will start posting the fuselage build shortly.
More photos for your enjoyment. Everything looks fine up till now. Later on, I found that the center body had no tolerance for the cabin to fit. The center pylon was laminated to give the structure strength, Unfortunately, I did this section first. Next time I will do the cabin first and then work the center section around it. More photos to come. The Talon is now finished but it will take a few more postings until I get to the final showing. Enjoy and see you all around the forums.

looking good. One thing to remember regarding reinforcement of the main body is that part 12 (my numbering, see my annotated version of the ultramarine pdf) can be used to significantly reinforce the structure.
Hi Terrinecold, I also used that part for reinforcement but also as a sleeve for the wing rotators. Your updated PDF came in after I downloaded the original without the annotations. I just re-downloaded the annotated plans. Thanks.
By the way, Did Dakkadakka answer most of your question on the building and painting of Warhammer miniatures and armor?

For the engine connectors I tried two versions. This is the first construction. There is another, which I liked and is the one I used in the model. This connection had a small hole to connect them, the other version was much larger and stronger, but you will see that later on.
I still have to do a few details before it is completely done. I am working on the hinged canopy in the open position and those missiles. I may also add more armaments, like hard points on the wings foe a bomb load and wing tip las cannons. But those are for another posting. Enjoy and see you all postings.

I used to be an instructor and I still try to teach in my way. There many models in the downloads that have no instructions and have stopped a few builders from doing them. In this case Terrincold build some steps in the construction of the Talon but I just go a little further, to show what can be done with a little extra detail work. As for that offer, I will definitely consider it in the New Year.
Now on with the construction. Here are some photos that show the fit problem. I definitely did not want to scratch the Talon at this point but adapted to the new situation.

107 and 108 are reversed? the gun tub looks painted in 107 and plain in 108. If I remember correctly you are going to get a few more fit issues underneath the talon due to the overextended cockpit.
Also I think you are adding much more than a little compared to what I had done in term of instructions as you are giving the next builder an idea of what build order to use.
I would say though that The most important things to clarify for a future builder is how to reinforce the body and the fit with the cockpit and tail. If the body is sturdy enough and the tail and cockpit are correctly attached to it, the rest is pretty clear and much easier as one has a robust platform to build upon.

I have so many photos of the build that some are ahead of others. Sometimes, the size of the image will decide where it wants to go, another reason that I am numbering the stages. Every now and then, I will deviate from the build schematics and design my own. For the fitting of the parts, where I ran into problems, I will explain later on when I build my next conversion
