Samurai Armour

There was a time, back when I was studying kenjutsu that I could name every piece of that suit. Now all I can remember is that obi is belt....
I too had studied Kenjutsu as well. Unfortunately, I too have forgotten all of the proper names for all of the parts. So, I wholeheartedly understand.

I was ready for my Blackbelt test, when I broke my back the first time. never was able to bend enough to take the test...

I am sorry to hear that. I know how things like that can be a huge disappointment.
For me, it was not that life altering. It is was just a matter of "life's circumstances" getting in the way, and I had to move to areas that did not have dojos that offered that style of martial arts.

During my search for more samurai armour sets, I can across this site:
Whilst I was going through the site, I came across this page:
This page has two different sword stands that I really like.

This one is a two tiered stand.

Here is the stand with the sword displayed with the sword unsheathed.
20241223_214613.jpg

Here is an upright stand. This one is similar to the one that comes with the template.

Here is the stand with the sheathed sword next to the armour.

I will be including with stands with this diorama, so that my grandson can choose which one he prefers.
(I will be doing the say thing with my granddaughter's diorama as well).

The sword parts fit perfectly on the stand! This way you can appreciate the sheath and the blade at the same time. Great mix! :)
