My Final Trackplan.....

I don't know, I think the Wholelottabenchwork & Notalotabedroom Railroad or the W & N RR for short seems to sum it up nicelysign1

Beautiful! Those final little changes you made down in the bottom left corner really cleaned that area up. It looks great.

Thanks again Trainnut!!! Im really pleased with the changes Val suggested I do in the bottom left corner too :thumb:

Plus now I can switch those industries without having to worry about sqeezing a loco and one boxcar past the switch without running into the wall lol and the cement complex and oil refinery have way more room to get more cars in there too :thumb:

I was trying to go for that, but I couldn't think of something even CLOSE to this! This is defenently the better choice for the name. Now you gotta make at least one engine/car with W&N RR markings on it:p

Great looking trackplan, Josh (and all your helpers, too! :-D ) This is really an ambitious-looking project, and I like the name too. I was going to suggest adding "Industrial" to the end of the name, but I'm not sure if W&NI looks right. ;)
I suppose that by now your Dad has caught on to the fact that you're unlikely to be moving out any time before your mid-40s, at the earliest.:-D:-D

Thanks Wayne!!!! It surtainly will be loads of fun, both in the building stages and the running trains stages

Ya know, I actually like the added I on there W&NI. Ya I like that, ill have to tell Ed

and Dad is fine with me living at home, tho, I dont plan on staying for ever, maybe a few more years

I like it! I'd recommend one thing though, redesigning that complexity of switches and crossings, and make is one diagonal ones, with some double slip switches (yes the prototype DOES use them from time to time).

Thanks Josh!!!! yup yup and yup, lol I will be doing double slips in the spots with the 3 12.5 degree crossings :thumb:   :thumb:

It will really improve the way a train can move around in that area :thumb:

Now theres an idea, that might get a lil complicated but it would be something to consider!!! :thumb: :thumb:

Yeah, it's been an idea I've been knocking around ever since I named the layout Riverside. The idea is to have a nice looking layout, yet be able to take it apart for shows and also not have to make you tear down your layout (read 'destroy') when you move. If I ever do make a bigger Riverside layout, my current 4X8 will be a module in it (can't tear my first layout down).

Josh, since you are doing the modern era, will you be runnng 50 and 60 foot long cars, or even longer? This will relate to your minimum radius and turn-out sizes. Experiment and make sure things work before you make it permanent.

Sweet, I dont blame you for not wanting to tear down your first layout either, doing that was like really hard for me, and I was stupid and forgot to take pics before I did it all to  wall1 :curse:  wall1 :eek:ops: :eek:ops:
