The Hermit,

I bought a camara ideal for shooting paper models. I went to BestBuy and told the guy that I wanted a camara that could shoot extreme closeups. He recommended the Sony Cybershot DSC-W80. I shoot with macro "on" and flash "off".

Be warned: the camara shows every little problem - but I think that is a "good" thing. At 51 years old, I need every aid I can get. The camara points out things I can't see with the naked eye. A must-have.

Ken, I'm only 44, but I now wear a headband magnifier whenever I work, 'cuz otherwise I just can't focus on tiny details. Try one out sometime.

Regards,

The first picture shows the wrinkled gun. The second picture shows the thin paper over original gun. Slightly different color, but at least it isn't wrinkled.

The next three pictures just show some more progress.

Attached are the last 4 pictures of the finished Sherman.

This was a fun build. It was my first tank; I never even built one in plastic! I know very little about tanks, but I think these machines are fascinating.

I will soon be building the Dragon Wagon to go with this model. But I think I will take a break for awhile and build a jet or something.

What a fantastic model Ken. Great job. Good rescue on the barrel, I can't roll tubes to save my life !!

Ken,

This is not an easy model to build especially with all of the compound curves and you have done a very good job. Makes me want to get my Sherman out and start building the model.

Working on the Sherman

Hello
To your knowledge is there a tool on the market for punching out circles on these models, the sherman has about 185 also do you think gluing the frame with the thickness of 2 wallboards is ok?,I used one thickness and the parts seem kind of flexable. This is my first attempt at a tank ive been building paper aircraft, this build has many more parts and while i have your attention ill ask one more thing, ive been using closepins & rubberbands to do most of my assembly but at times there not adequate what other holding clamps are there out there that i can use.
Sorry for the long post
Thanks
John
