Launch when ready!

Partial launch rail? Wait- I thought that you guys were gonna do an entire bay WITH a complete launch rail.sign1
Oops, sorry - should be: "partial VINTAGE STYLE launch rail" !

The complete one is from the new BSG, this one will feature the 1978 version.

Oh, you've just uncovered our darkest secret... And after some genetic engineering the Vipers are to be turned into Cobras! Mwahahahar! (evil scientist's laughter)

Actually, I have already done such. See:

This is my mothers fighter.

This is the diagram that I used as a guide to recolour it.

Really? I didn't know that. Do you have a picure or a name of the vessel?

A little update, this time concerning the Mk. IV. I have made the canopy a bt rounder and the collar around the intakes got its wavy line.

I cant remember wich one it was and the trek mag a red it in is still packed sorry

That's your MOM's fighter?

Cool Mom!

Cool son for building it for her, too.

When I was a kid, my mother and I would watch both BSG and BRTC25 together. She also gave me a tremendous amount of encouragement when I first started paper modeling. At times, she would help me with some of my builds. So as a memorial to her, I built this fighter. I just wish she were still alive to have seen it. I know that she would have cherished it GREATLY.

Mk. IV update

Hello folks!

A little update on the Mk. IV: The general shape is set and ready for texturing. I'll have to cut out a hole for the cockpit and make the interior.

CU - with a textured Mk. I fin!

forgive my ignorince of the full subject , but is the mk iv cannon or your own design?

great work so far!

Thank you!

The Mk. IV is canon but there is a very sad story about her: She was supposed to become the star of a new BSG continuation series by Tom DeSanto & Brian Singer in 2001. The project was in full swing when suddenly Singer left to direct "X-Men". Production continued even though, sets and two Viper mock-ups were built, masks and costumes were made. What happened then is a bit foggy, but it is said that 9/11 had some impact on the decision to freeze the endeavour. In the end everything was shelved and all sets - including the Vipers - were tossed into a landfill.

Here you can see the original Mk. IVs:
