Construction of TOS Galactica Shuttles

Heute starte ich ein neues kleines Projekt./ Today I start a new small project.
write it once. I printed my photos and would like the basis of which to build a cardboard skeleton.
It should then little by little the shuttle arise by eye.
Not 1: 1, but the recognition effect will be there. Everything in 1:32 scale.

Ich beschreibe es mal. Ich habe mir Fotos ausgedruckt und möchte, anhand derer, ein Kartongrundgerüst aufbauen.
Darauf soll dann Stück für Stück das Shuttle entstehen , nach Augenmaß.
Nicht 1:1, aber der Wiedererkennungseffekt soll da sein. Alles im Maßstab 1:32.

Dann nach habe ich mir überlegt wie ich alles verbinden könnte. Hier kam ich auf die Idee Segmente zu verwenden, wie im Schiffbau.

Nun folgten die Mühen des Ausschneidens. Verwendet habe ich Graupappe.

Die Antriebe erwiesen sich als Herausforderung. Deshalb zuerst ein Probebau mit einer Rolle.
The drives proved to be challenging. Therefore first a Probebau with a roller.

So, die Idee war gut, jedoch zu instabil. Das geht bestimmt noch besser.

So, the idea was good, but too unstable. That's certainly better.

Thanks for the sculptureblock link. It seems to be an interesting material, I didn't know it. How strong is it once sculpted? It's possible to cover it with some kind of finishing or paint?
