COME WITH US TO BETHLEHEM

Source : ABC 25/2021 (reprint from 1951-1954)

Author : Vojtěch Kubašta

This nativity scene was published in the Christmas issue of ABC and it is a traditional nativity scene by a well-known author who, in addition to a number of paper folding nativity scenes, also created eight cut-outs, and this is one of them. I glueded the nativity scene with cardboard and placed it in a box.

A few words about the original:

After retiring in 1980, Master Pekara began producing a work that is a legacy of a believer, an admirer of the beauties of Slovakia, a carver and a designer. He started working on the Slovak Nativity Scene, which was established for fifteen years. The whole work is 8.5 m long, 2.5 m wide and 3 m high. Altogether, there are about 300 characters, half of which move. The exhibition depicts not only the birth of Christ, but also the history of the Slovak nation. Bethlehem is incorporated into the scenery of the most important Slovak monuments; everyday life is depicted here, as well as the work activities of the Slovak people in the past.

This cut-out was published in the older Fifík and I put it off for quite a long time, due to the number of small parts and not quite clear instructional drawing ... The author depicted a small part of the Slovak Nativity Scene in Rajecká Lesná. It's a nice addition to my collection of nativity scenes. As the Christmas season is slowly coming to an end, I will hopefully add more nativity scenes next Christmas ... a few photos:

Pop-up Christmas card

Author : Didier Martin

It's Christmas here, so I'll add some nativity scenes to my collection. Since there was no nativity scene in ABC this year and Fifík published an older nativity scene that I already have pasted, I looked on the Internet. On mylittlehouse.org, there are a bunch of cutouts for children that process different parts of the bible, there are more nativity scenes, so maybe I will glue something from there. This nativity scene takes the form of a pop-up card. A few photos:

THE NATIVITY STORY

Another nativity scene from mylittlehouse.org, this one in 3D image format. As is customary on these pages, it is also available in a black and white edition, which children can color as they wish. I glued the colored version, which does not need to be changed, it can be used to create a complete 3D image with a frame. A few photos:

...and since it's January 1st, I would like to wish everyone all the best for the new year, especially good health and everything you wish for. ;)

Christmas Crib with Kings

The last nativity scene this winter, hopefully I'll add another one next Christmas... We had feast of the three kings, so I'm glad I managed to glue this classic piece from Schreiber... I glued the nativity scene with 0.5 mm cardboard, instead of the figures' supports from I used skewers, I used artificial moss for the terrain, I placed the entire nativity scene in a box that I sprayed with black paint. Nativity play set

Scale: ?

Author: Playrama, Etsy

Since I was at work for almost the entire Christmas holidays, I didn't have time to glue almost anything...but I started a few nativity scenes and now that I have more free time I can at least finish them...These are simple and different nativity scenes that I got on Etsy . The first is this nativity scene that can be built with free pieces for kids to put together. I turned it into a nativity scene, which I placed in a box.
