Here is a small update.

This is the "dial" component.


Here are the parts fort the "dial" component.


The components are assembled.


I wrapped the rectangle parts in aluminium foil.


The "dial" component is in place.

That is actually possible. Since most of it is hollow, you can put an L.E.D. (or laser) and a sound card in it. Then again, you can do it with all of the sci-fi weapons that @Revell-Fan has created.

Yes! I have started to make a working Cylon Centurion rifle but the project is on hold due to time restrictions. Basically you can use a cheap toy gun, transplant the electronics and the trigger onto the card model and have an instant working blaster.

The only problem with all weapon models is that legally they are seen as apparent weapons ("Anscheinswaffe" in German). If you get caught walking around in the streets with it you could get fined or arrested, the model could even get confiscated. The very first Star Wars guns looked a lot like the real props and were actually mistaken for real guns. To avoid this toy manufacturers began to use those bright and flashy colours on them and distort the proportions deliberately so that you can clearly identify them as a toy. The manufacturers are capable of producing guns which look spot-on but they don't do it to avoid any legal issues (for them and the customer). I think you could get away with it when you are wearing a hot skin tight white spandex outift at the same time. :Grin:
