A "where I'm At since last post" update...

I've painted the trim on the body shell and added a wash to bring out the panel lines...

the base interior is assembled with bench seats like mine had....

And I have all 8 plug wires installed and basic shape, ready to be wired to the distributor...

now working on mods to the dash and the steering column.

Now a mid week update, I've got the mods to the steering column done, I added turn signal selector, Gear selector and column mounted tachometer, and the finished steering column
Mods to the interior tub done, basically just filled the hole for the floor shifter and added the 6X9 speaker grills to the rear deck.
All the plug wires fell of so I tried another way to attach them and that didn't work either so I've stared my third try at them. I drilled out the top of the distributor and glued all 9 wires into it, then spread them all out and set the fireing order added boots and now I just have to install them to holes drilled into the heads.

and another update on my Chevy II build for today...
The engine has the sparkplug wires installed finally,
and the finished engine is installed in the chassis.

Now working to replicate the street legal "Sneaker" exhaust that my car had. Cutting up the stock exhaust to get mufflers and then using the "Drag" "Sneaker" side exhaust. more pics to come

A late weekend update on my 66 Chevy II build. I've kitbashed the exhaust to make the street legal? side exhaust that I had on my 66 Back in highschool,
I first cut the mufflers from the kit "stock" exhaust and mounted them directly to the collectors on the headers Then glued the "drag" 'Sneaker' pipes to the mufflers and chassis, Then painted them steel and viola,
also assembled the rear suspension and added the traction bars.
I've always thought that those traction bars were on backwards, but every racer I've ever known swears they are on right.
Wheels painted and assembled, ready to be installed. I deceided against trying to hand carve a set of Centerline Billet wheels for the rear and just went with Cragers all around. working on the front suspension now,

Many, that really looks good!! Needs battery cables though! It'll never start!

I've decided against battery cables and fuel lines, those razza frazzin plug wires nearly drove me to drink....
my go to wash is actually premixed and sold by AV Vallejo as "Black Shade", I've got that and their "Fleshtone Shade" in my color drawer, I'll snap a pick of the bottles when I'm doing the final pics of the build. The wash is basically just a very thin paint, you apply it in the corners or low spots and it will "add" the shadows you need.

That wash really is an excellent "trick" of the trade! Great! I know what you mean about the wires, you need good Hemostats and solid core thing gauge wire, or you can't preform it. I used to heat the lead and melt it into the terminal, bash an end together, copper is very malleable, and just put a dab of grey in the center to color the post (copper) grey, having wrapped the solid core around the post, it only works with solid core copper. It is time consuming. Not necessary though, this model pops so much, why bother.

it sits a little low in the back but it captures the look nicely.

And for my next project, one picked by the wife, for the wife, and given the subject, I hope I cam finish it before All Hallows Eve.

I must have built "Boot Hill Express" 5 times in my life! I loved that vehicle, when I was a kid, still do. My favorite was Revell's/Monogram Li'l Coffin. I can't believe it's still available, $20 buck + S&H!!

The Nova would look great mounted on a mirror, that under carriage has to be seen!!

I think I will be ordering the "Revell's/Monogram Li'l Coffin", with the intent of converting it into a Paper model!
