Sn3 Mogul from an HO Roundhouse Oldtime Mogul

I love that. I know very little about S scale, but is Sn3 wider r narrower than HO guage? I dabble in On30, (O scale, HO gauge) so I know a bit about narrow gauge. If it was widened: what did you use to fill in the gap? If narrower: did you have to trim the weight or moter to allow the narrower...

    Gn15

This is a newer scale/gauge. It is Gn15. Gn15 is 1:22.5 trains that run on HO track. I only just heard about it a few months ago but found three web sites on it: www.Gn15.info www.carendt.com www.iholmes.com If you have any comments, pease submit the in this thread. Thank You...

    Corn fields in n-scale

This is an idea I picked up at an NMRA national connvention meant for HO but it might work. Take green twist ties, twist two or three together, snip at the paper(?) add corn (this guy didn't add corn but you could probobly use yellow ground foam) "plant" it, repeat until you have filled your...

    Bachmann 4-4-0, More than shay?

I just looked through my bachmann catolog, and found that in On30 the 4-4-0 is more expensive than the Shay! N scale section:4-4-0 second most expensive (first being a 4-8-4) 1:20.3: Third most expensive engine (1st being the K-27, 2nd being the three truck shay) By $50.00! Seeing this makes...

Thoughts on N scale Bachmann Steam Engines

My Bachmann New York Central 2-6-2 Is my favorite. it looks good, runs well, andis a good size. Only once has it fried, and after sitting for about a month, I tried it again, and it ran well. What I don't like about it is that it uses Repeto couplers. All in all, it is a very good engine

Thoughts on N scale Bachmann Steam Engines

My UP 4-4-0 Looks nice, but it is tini. that is not a huge problem, but the guiding wheels are hard to get on the track, and it appears to have some mechanism in the tender. it runs best backwards. it takes a couple of hours to fry, which is good for when I run it on the club layout (becouse it...

Thoughts on N scale Bachmann Steam Engines

I love steamers, but there are very few affordable engines out there. I go to most of the train shows in the area, find some good deals, but the best steam engines I have found, at a decent price, are by bachmann. I have a 0-4-0T and an 0-6-0T by unkown manufacturers. One looks almost...

    Advise?

I like to do could-have-been railroads. sometimes I think it would be loosly based on real railroads. I like to be creative, so modeling an exact replica of a railroad really isn't as fun. The catching of knifes... well it's an instinct... but possible to not try I rarly think about the clothes...

    T-Trak

The manual link, Jesso, was a wealth of information. Reading the walk-through of the benchwork helps me with my carpentry problem. I have seen google videos on T-Trak layouts, those were not as well done as I hope to (using my years of experiance) build mine. I think I know a better way of...

    Advise?

That's awsome! I love geared locos, so the ability to run one really apeals to me. I like the idea. Sounds relitively easy. Who makes DCC/Sound decoders at a reasonable price? If there arn't any I may just have to go DC untill I find the time, skill, & money. I love the excursion car idea. I may...

    T-Trak

Can anyone give me info & links about T-Trak? I just heard about it on this site a few days ago when I was looking for info on N scale traction. I want to do the alternate curves. The ONE site I know about this is: www.T-Trak.org I want more ideas for how to build a T-Trak loop (with set up &...

    N-Scale Traction

I looked at their web site and found that there is an alternate curve that is meant to be for six axel engines. I can't imagine a six axel going down a 11.5"R curve, but 10"R allows most of my engines & rolling stock (although my two six axel engines can't handle it, the rest of them do). My SP...

    N-Scale Traction

I just found that T-Trak uses 8.5"R Kato track. Theye'r moduals are slightly larger than that, but only by a few inches. The standard is: 8-1/4"x12-1/5"x2-3/4"

    N-Scale Traction

Cool, but this is just something to cary around since I already exibit with an N scale group. I may build moduals eventually for trollys & have it operable alone. I will have to investigate. they may have some advice if they are in the same area I live in. Thank You

    Newbie -- model builder program

You should try a simple model, like a small shed with two windows, and a door. consitering the era, make it clapboard. ...Oh nd one more thing: make the shed a basic one piece roof with one angle. that way you don't have to wory as much about getting both slants perfect.
