Twiki from Buck Rogers - Lego-style!

Actually, I was wrong: Megabloks is the one that has it: But LEGO does have a smooth plate with studs on the bottom:

Basically, I would turn up the contrast, and each part of it that curves should have a highlight.

    Beta-Builders sub-forum idea

I was struck with an interesting idea (and don't worry, I got its plate, so it won't get away with this!)... What if we had a dedicated sub-forum for beta-builders? A place where people who needed a beta-builder could ask for one, or for people who like to beta-test models could check for new...

    Paragon's Type 9 Shuttlecraft

I'd be happy to when I get to the Enterprise-E shuttle (the one from Star Trek Insurrection). It's on my list after I do the Runabout.

Twiki from Buck Rogers - Lego-style!

Y'know, I hate to tell you this, but they already have a piece like that...

Star Wars A-Wing Fighter SF-Papercraft Gallery

This is always the way I imagine it, and it makes a heck of a lot more sense than either the hinge or the back-sliding version:

    Paragon's Type 9 Shuttlecraft

It's roughly 8 inches long when completed. :) I did some extra work to get it to look this good like replacing the entire side walls of the impulse engines with solid strips of paper, but this model is an excellent base to start from. Oh, and something else I forgot to mention: there are...

    Paragon's Type 9 Shuttlecraft

Well, while I can't really work on the Gunstar at the moment because I can't take build photos (and who wants a build thread without build photos, right?), I did want to build something. So I was reading Ex Astris Scientia and checking out the Voyager inconsistencies, and all of the sudden it...

Thunderchild's Starcar and Gunstar on silver card

Aw man, thank you Zathros! I think there are better builds out there, but I'm glad you're recognizing my hard work. :)

Paper model of 30'' AT-AT scratch builded in progress

I'm... I'm just speechless!! Those models are SPECTACULAR!! I was wondering, though: what was that event that they were being displayed at? And was that Nebulon-B another paper subject?

Thunderchild's Starcar and Gunstar on silver card

Sorry Marco, that one actually went to a good friend of mine who loves The Last Starfighter. But maybe next time. ;) Okay, so I haven't got as big an update as last time, but it's at a good stopping place at the moment for showing you what I've got. First, I decided once again to up the ante...

Thunderchild's Starcar and Gunstar on silver card

Okay, so here's some more progress. The first thing I decided to work on was the foundation of the bottom: the lower nose. I took the bottom of the paper piece and glued it to the balsa, then cut it out and laminated it to another piece of balsa. I set a weight on top of it to keep it from...

Thunderchild's Starcar and Gunstar on silver card

After I finished the Starcar I started to work on the Gunstar. Here's where it all began: I decided while I was building this thing that I wanted it to be solid as a rock. The structure as-is is wonderful, but at the same time I like it to be something that will stand up to pressure. So I cut...

Thunderchild's Starcar and Gunstar on silver card

Hiya, guys. :) It's been a while since I posted a build thread, and I figured it was time to change that! So I was visiting my parents' house for Memorial Day, and I noticed that my dad now has a back-feed printer. Why is this significant? Well, let me turn back the hands of time a bit... A...

The Ghost from Star Wars: Rebels

Thanks so much, you guys. :) Okay, I think I can call the model done: Forward gun turret: Engines (with new nozzle details) and back end greebles: Now to model the Phantom...

The Ghost from Star Wars: Rebels

Uhm.... MF is fine. ;) There won't be an interior to this one, though I'm sure I can create one easily enough after I finish the ship. Got the upper gun turret and engines done. Only things left on the ship are the forward gun and the greebles next to the engines, then I can start the Phantom.

The Ghost from Star Wars: Rebels

Yeah, I looked for a model of it as well, but I couldn't find any and was disappointed by the simple kit in the DVD. This one will be a full model with a separable Phantom shuttle. Update:

The Ghost from Star Wars: Rebels

Well, I'm officially hooked on this show. It reminds me of Firefly in all the good ways, and while not everyone can appreciate it of course, I am really looking forward to seeing the rest of the series. One of the things I like the most though is the Ghost, a Corellian freighter that is a cross...
