Mikey, The September issue of Railroad Model Craftsman has a review of the 1:20.3, K-27 Mikado. Quite a nice engine.

Chief, In that same issue is a 16 page supplement on laser cut kits. On page (XI) there is a section on applying a GRITS FINISH, yes that is correct using grits (either regular or instant) to create a weathered finish.

No trains today, need to make some headway on the dollhouse project.

Good Afternoon,
The rain has now become showery in sunny Stockport and the mercury is climbing the glass 20C/68F.

ERNI picked up a bug and would not let me log on to this site [kept turning cookies off] , gave him a whack with a shunters pole and rebooted everything. How long this happy state will last is any ones guess.

Just got a new cell phone, talk about gizmo's! makes Captain Kirks communicator look like a jungle drum. I've had it ten days and have spent about fifty hours on the learning curve [fell off a few times]

I sympathise with you guys fighting the flab, this Diabetes I have is partially the result of excess weight, caused in no small part by my liking for Dr Robinson's excellent elixir

GOOD EVENING,,,Nice day here 82 or so. went to train store today for a couple hours, did a lot of talkin and listenen but got away without buying anything. No plans for tomorrow so I'll wing it...enjoy your evening....S.J.

Good evening all, Looks like another computer related project is in the works as it has to go thru the chain of command for approval:thumb:

Also have some other opportunities I am looking into as well.

Anyone out there do casting and molding?

Good luck CSX - keep that train budget going lol! Nothing going on here, but Lionel is apparently cancelling some things including the Hogwarts people pack I had preordered :( Oh well, more money for other stuff I guess. Good email talk with Sir James tonight and an on-the-run email from Doug too! Cool to be able to email from a train! Talked to my friend Deb in Florida some on chat and I think we solved the healthcare problem in America. Too bad neither of us is in charge of anything - maybe run for god-emperor? Any takers? I'll be a benevolent dictator, I promise - lots of subsidies for toy train makers who use orange boxes :-^

Good morning.

The temp is 75 and it's mostly cloudy. The high today is expected to be around 90 and it will still be mostly cloudy.

Yesterday was great! We good quite a bit of rain. One inch in the morning follow by another half an inch in the evening. My parents grass is going to go absolutely nuts! Which is a good thing, because I get $20 every time I cut it. It's not much but when your total monthly income is under $700, you take what you can get.

Morning all. Morning Olivia. Good info. Misty here and rain coming. Breakfast time as slept late. BTW: thanks to all you who got up early and went to work. Keep it up. Got my first Social Security check electronicly deposited at midnight. Keep those $$$$ coming. :thumb: Have a good one.

Good morning America!
Good afternoon Europe!

One thing I like about the caboose cafe - the spam is only ever served one way: flame-grilled!

Chief Eagles: I enjoyed 'my south' - it suits my sentiments. As a dweller in Kent, I guess I'm some sort of southerner too. Never had grits though - is that some sort of distant cousin to popcorn?

Good morning folks

It was 71 F and you can feel the humidity increasing slightly this morning. High today will be 86 F

I did not have a chance to post yesterday. It was one of those days. I got to work late thanks to a couple of yahoos who weren’t paying attention and rear ended a couple of cars causing a huge traffic mess. Once I got in I had to go to a meeting. I had to leave that meeting early to go on field view to take a look at a critical bridge project. Replacing the bridge superstructure is easy except we can’t detour the road. Despite having 64 feet of road we still may not have enough room to do the bridge in half-widths. Constructability issues can a big thorn in a designer side at times.

No modeling last night. The other night my son may have came up with a solution to the layout of the power plant and the yard. He suggested placing the building in a different location than I was planning to do. Since my way did not seem to be working out I had avoided working on this part of the layout. Now I have some renewed interest.

Today will be a short day as I have to leave early because I have to take the kids to the pediatricians.

I hope everybody has a good day.

A good evening to all, we got sun and rain, middle 70s today. no train activeity today except another walk through the Lionel catalog while sitting on the front porch. Sorry but that was it. I have been having some nice evening chats with Brutus, it really makes the evening enjoyable. Even if we can't change the world...The best to all,,,S.J.

I got an ETS catolog from wearver the other day and today I got the same one direct from the Czchek Republic:confused::cool:

John - no self respecting southerner would use instant grits to weather a laser-cut model kit! Apologies to My Cousin Vinny ;)

Thanks for these pics, Jeffrey - I'm adding them to my wallpaper collection!
