The new IXS Enterprise card model

He's still working on it. ;)
David JUST now sent me an email. Version 1.3 of the IXS Enterprise is out there and there are no ghosts! No too faint lines! It's READY! I'm gonna print it and start! Well, once my chipboard comes in. It's really necessary to stiffen the warp rings and other things. Yay! Oops. This should have gone somewhere else. You were talking about the Narcissus. Well anyway...

Version 1.2 is definitely available on the Paper Modelers download section. However there are still some problems with it. I have emailed Thanos and he said he will look into it soon. I'm being a pest with him, but I so want to build that model!

If the "pesting" is just the light lines, you may just have to live with that. Have it printed a "Staples" and see what they come up with. You really could then verify this is a problem or not. Any other errors as to build ability should be addressed, and may have been. I don't want to speak to much to it if nobody else is having problems, and surely do not wish to name people of another forum that have stated the same thing you are stating. From what I am gathering, it's the light lines, and you printer is ancient, for sure. This is why build pics are important.

Just out of curiosity I changed the link to this, and came up with Version 1.2. It might accommodate those people wishing to build this to remove the 1.1 pdf, and just leave the ver 1.2 up

Just changing the 2 to a 3 on the link gets you the 3rd version, so the post, which I have updated, gets you the most recent model., you can see by studying the link how that works. I can't tell you how many times this has worked. :)

View attachment 169339 View attachment 169340 And...here it is. I'm not at all happy with the way it came out, but I can try again.
I think that it turned out well. I fully understand the want to rebuilding. I am the same way. I have been know to rebuild a model several times before I am happy with it. Then again, when I do rebuild a model, I wind up adding detail that I think should have been added in the first place or that would essentially enhance the overall appearance of the model.
If you do rebuild it, I would ask if you could post a build thread (especially if you add additional details or greebles).
Once again, NICE JOB!

This is really a fantastic model! Just form you pictures I can see lots of greebling opportunities! Have to ask, what thickness of paper did you use?

WOOOOW! What a model! :Congrats:

INDEED! Now you know how the parts go together and where they belong. With another try you will be able to produce an even greater result. This is the basic strategy of @Rhaven Blaack ;) .

Thank you. And yep. I'm probably gonna start over and do a better job.

Half your problems will vanish if you jump up and use at least 110lb stock!

Thanks! Gonna have to get better with the curvy bits, though.
Curvy Lines? use the straight cut method... use straight cuts around the perimeter until there are only a few sections left that are easy to cut off! Interior Curvy lines cut in short sections at a time and while leaving the cutter still in the card, move the card to reposition for the next section.
