Just to let you know, there are quite a few problems with this template. I had to extract it from .PDF to .PNG, and make the necessary corrections (which is an ongoing process).
i think its fair to have kits with problems, i dont know how you guys get them so well designed in the first place - so i guess you will have kits that have some issues sometimes, but the end results always look amazing - im sure there have been issues with my builds yet its very satisfying to see them all done ;) cant wait for the finished article

One thing that some designers do not take into consideration, is the need of having a beta test builder. A beta test builder's job is to go through the template and the instructions to see if there are any mistakes or problems with either the template or instructions and then work with the designer to fix the problems or issues. Once that is done, then the template is released to the public.

well. I'm liking what I see so far... Is this in scale with the figures/marines/orcs etc...?
That is a very good question. Sadly, I really do not know the answer to it. However, once I am finished, I will post finished measurements and comparisons to the WH40K plastic model. Unfortunately, I do not have the plastic model to post side-by-side photos. However, I will still post the comparative numbers.

would you say that these type of kits qualify as professional/commercial 'level/quality' sets? To me, if they are made purely for the enjoyment, and shared accordingly, all of these kits, from the most basic to high end are outstanding - given the fact that in most other areas of the hobby 'industry' the 'industry' part quickly takes over and a kit/project will become a commercial product. I for one, since discovering this area of the hobby have yet to find any faults in any kit that ive got - yes there will be errors/adjustments at times but to me that would be part of the project i guess  but i am not a model designer - from that aspect i understand that 'proofing' your project is always a good idea. It still amazes me the amount of effort people put into designing these kits, asking nothing but credit and enjoyment. More areas of this hobby could use such inspirations and positivity when its hard to draw younger people to the craft. :toast: I bow to all your efforts, and thankyou all for them.

There are many designers (many of which are members of this forum) who design model templates that are at a level of quality and complexity, that they rival that of plastic (and resin) model kits. Yes, these people really ask for very little in exchange for what all that they do. Granted there are those who wish to charge for their work. There is nothing wrong with that. They are entitled to the compensation for the work that they produce.
Now with that being said, is a commercial template "better" than a free template? Most certainly not. Is a free better than a commercial template? Again, no. Flaws, mistakes and issues can be found in both free and commercial templates. My suggestion to anyone who wishes to get into this hobby, determine what genre that one likes and is interested in. Start off with a simple and easy (regardless of it being commercial or free. However, I prefer free templates) template. Then once one has understood the basics of paper/cardstock model building, start working up to more complex and detailed templates. The three most important things to remember are, take your time building, have fun, and do not allow the failures of the first attempts (regardless of how they turn out) discourage one's' interest in the hobby as a whole (yes, I am speaking from experience. The first time that I built the template for the Thunder Fighter, it looked like a "DOG'S DINNER". :hammerhead::headbange:).

Just to let everyone know, there are two types of "Marauder", there is the regular Marauder and the Marauder Destroyer. Both have the same main body and wings, the only difference are the front and rear cannon systems.
THIS ONE IS FOR THE MARAUDER DESTROYER.

I would like to add, to participate in Warhammer40K sanctioned tournaments, you must use their products. Homemade. D.I.Y projects are not allowed, or even appreciated. So you make their models out of the joy for it. I would never pay for a 40K model as it is not authorized and not usable in a tournament.

You make a very valid point about using ONLY the "GAMES WORKSHOP" products and models for the WH40K sanctioned tournaments. However, it actually goes further than that. If a particular model is taken out of production, it is "OFFICIALLY" removed from "game-play" (meaning that one is no longer allowed to use it during official tournaments.).

Now with that being said, I belong to a (Facebook) WH40K (paper/cardstock model) group. There those who have "paper" tournaments (using only the paper/cardstock models). However, these are mostly in Eastern Europe.
As mentioned though, I am building this one for my son (who wants it as a "display' piece. Especially since this particular model has been discontinued and is no longer produced.).

Thank you for the kind words. That is a very good question. I use tempera paints ("CURATE + COLOUR" brand tempera paints, here in the US.) and a very fine brush; and a slight "dry brushing" technique to paint the edges. Find a good company that you like, get the "basic" set of colours and then mix the colours that you need for the particular project that you are currently working. Then go from there.

I have started on the main body now. Of course starting with the front section and working my way back.
Unfortunately, this plane does not have an actual cockpit.

As you can see, there are quite a few greebles. This whole model is a greeblers dream. So by all means have fun with it.
