Its possible to convert any loco to DCC. You just need to know how to wire it. Could you send me a picture of the mechanism? its probably the same as an Athearn, but i just want to be sure.

The main thing you need to do to wire any locomotive to DCC is to isolate the electric motor from the frame. Once that is done, then follow the directions for your chosen decoder. You will have two wires from the decoder to the frame to pick up power, two wires to the motor from the decoder, and two wires for lights on a basic decoder. It only gets complicated when you have a locomotive like some of the early Lifelike P2k's that had special lighting packages. I've got a couple of ho scale E-8s and Pa's that I'm not sure how I will wire in the decoder.
