For structural strength, I plan to use a lot of 1mm card to re-inforce each block to form a very strong and rigid infrastructure. Some blocks may well end up 5mm thick on the inside, and with the application of Cyanoacrylate adhesive (cheap superglue), soaked into the card, the infrastucture will ostensibly finish up 5mm plasticard.

    That should be pretty strong.

I'm gonna wanna play with this thing when she's a finished!sign1

    Top notch as usual.

Thanks again for not only creating this, but sharing the build experience with us. It's one thing to build a model but having you walk us through the process is worth the wait till it's completed.

I have noted that your projects are getting more and more detailed as well. Compare this with such works as the Icarus.

    Hi Jan!
So many people had build the tiny dropship! perhaps you can show your finished parts of the Sulaco with the dropship as size reference??? PLEASE:rolleyes: That will be really great for us (I think so)

BTW: I love again your texture work:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

    Greetings

Looking at the way the model is constructed (the inner blocks - which form double-layer ribs where glued together - with the layers of the outer hull glued to them) I don`t think that this is necessary. I guess it will be a very strong model at the end without any additional reinforcements.

You win the respect of your peers, and an all-expense paid tour of the "Holiday Home For Pets Meat Pie Company" :)

Seriously, that model is amazing. It may be tiny in stature, but it is huge, as accomplishments go. Well done.
