I own a Weaver c1 0-8-0 and the traction tire keeps slipping off of the driver wheel on one side of the unit. I have tried the obvious by replacing the traction tire with a new one.

I have also carefully inspected the driver wheel itself and the machined groove appears intact.

Has anybody run across this problem and if so, are there any suggestions as to how to correct it ?

I used to solve that problem on AHM HO locos by spreading a very, very thin coat of silicon glue on the driver tire, then re-install the traction tire and let the whole thing dry overnight....Silicon glue takes a long time to dry.

Hi and Welcome to the Gauge,
I had the same problem on a set of K-Line interurbans I had. I solved it by removing the traction tire and wiping it off thoroughly. Then I put a thin coat of Goo on and replaced the tire. Clean off any extra and allow it to dry. That did the trick for me and it should for you too. Steve
