Tie Advanced X1 building thread

Hello all,

I will start soon with the building of the Tie advanced X1 aka Darth Vader's Tie Fighter.
The template contains 14 pages.

I'm not able to upload any pictures so I will try it later this day.
Only 60 kB so it has to work.

The recolored UHU sphere

The wing;s with solar panels and some outside detailing.

Midle the disc with engine and lot's of detailing
And at the right the wing supports.

I'm on holiday in Yhe Netherlands but stil have some time to work on the advanced X1. So here is my progres.
First I started with the sphere.
The first sheet to be cut.


Next I will cut the interior and the Ion engine.
So more to come.

And today's update with the disc.
Below some greebling on the disc.


And the inner supports fitted on the disc.


The completed disc.
If the sphere is perfectly mounted it will fit like a glove.
On my model I need to make some adjustments on the disc.
I will do that when I'm at home there I got the correct tools.
So no picture of the disc on the sphere yet. Don't worry I will show it to you.


Next I will be working on the wing's.

And here are the wing's
The total cutting and glueing time is now hours.
Stil more hours to come when I begin with cutting and glueing the greebling.

Today I glued the wing's and the solar panels.
Below the assembly of the solar panels.

And the first wing support.

After I have adjusted the disc / sphere I can start to pre mount all the pieces.
Fingers crossed.........

Its time to fit the disc on the sphere. I have made some minor adjustments on the disc to fit it on the sphere.

And indeed something did not fit as planned.
So I have to make some new parts.

Last few days I was working in the garden building an outside kitchen. Because of the rain I was able to build some parts for the X1.
The parts to be cut out.
