Switched Scales, need specs.

Well, I decided to switch scales before I start my layout.

I just could not get that much into a 5' x 11.5' space. In N scale I can get much more.

I am attempting to design a new track plan. What I would like to know now is the specifications for N Scale.

1. What is the track guage in MM?

2. How long would a scale mile be?

3. What about inclines?

4. What is the spacing between tracks on the straight?

5. What is the spacing between tracks on a curve?

6. Anything else I need to know about N vs HO?

Any help would be appreciated.

1: 9mm

2: 33 feet (10.05831 M)

3: Inclines would be the same in any scale, h/r X 100 =%of grade, where h = the height, r = the run, or length in which the height was attained.

4: Ntrak spec is 1-1/2" (38.0997mm)

5: you can find specs at www.nmra.org/standards

6:you need to know OptiVisor.........

Optivisor???

Things are a little smaller in N, you might need magnification. I've been using an optivisor for about thirtythree years.

I see. Well, I am 50, so I think I will put that on my shopping list.
