I recently read a Model Railroader article about steel benchwork, and it looks like a quick and cheap way to erect a layout. Does anyone else have any expirience using steel or other metal structures for benchwork?

the article made a convincing arguement that it was better than wood.

    I read the same article.
I haven't tried it. Maybe cause I'm old school.

I operate on a friend's layout, Lostock Junction.

Mike rebuilt a lot of his layout with steel studs when it began sagging. He also uses them for cassettes to take trains off the layout and store them.
(I thought there were better pictures on the site of the studs.)
