SoundTraxx in a Atlas H16-44

I installed a SoundTraxx Decoder in a Atlas H16-44 with a 3/4 inch speaker in the top where the fan was. Looks good, runs good, but the sound is not loud enough. I changed the sound cv to 255 but it did not help!! Any suggestions????:wave:

Did you use an enclosure with it?
[I tried a Digitrax SoundBug with a .56" TDS Mini Oval speaker in the rear of an Atlas DASH 8-40B with and without an enclosure. It sounded better and louder with the enclosure.]

Did you point it up or down towards the wheels?
[I tried my Mini-Oval both ways and liked the bass response better when it was pointed down.]

Here are some other ideas/tips from "Tony's Train Exchange" [I got the speaker replacements with enclosures at Tony's as the stock 1" speaker was too big to fit in the DASH.]:
