Hey guys pull those books out again. A fellow Rock fan on another forum was asking about loco repair facilities. Any pics in those books (or on the web that you know of) ???

I'll go check the RITS right now, but other sources most welcome.

    Mike and George,

I found "some" sites on the Net. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but at least it was useable.

I can send these pics to you (ehh, once I locate them on the hdd). I believe they are of the Blue Island yard shops, but I could be wrong. They "MIGHT" be of the Silvis shops instead. That is "might be" George. LOL!

I find, that once you KNOW the actual location or name of the shops, you do find a lot more out on the net than what you originally thought was out there. My quest right now is to find people that have pics, that worked in the BN and RI shops of the Midwest.

Just as a side note... I prefer the RIX products shop buildings, because these resemble more of the design of today's shops than the Walthers buildings do. Course, I have Walthers too. LOL!

    Mike:

I have some pictures of Rock Island's repair shoppes in Silvis, ILL on my site. There is also a picture of it in the 1940's.
