This may be a stupid question but when they say an 18" radius track, do they mean 18" to the outside, to the inside, or to the center of a section of track?

    Thank you for the help.

    Sean:
It makes sense to measure to the centerline of the track if you lay out curves going in opposite directions.
Just to confuse things, Lionel traditionally measured their track to the outside of the ties (!) and used diameter (O 27 and O 31) although I'm told the wider radii were measued to the center.
