hi Mike---this one's for you---i followed your recommendation and changed the aperture setting on my camera to f8---i think it has improved the depth of field problem---thanks for your advice---it's another example of why the gauge is so great---members helping each other---hope you like the results

Yes, it does look great. The entire loco and even the roundhouse is in focus now! :thumb: I look forward to seeing more.


Next you can try experimenting with the lighting. It looks like you are using one or more floodlights to light the scene. It looks a bit like bright sunshine. That is good, but you could also try just using the available overhead lighting in the room. That might give you more even lighting throughout the whole scene without any dark shadows. Of course that would mean a longer exposure, but that's what tripods are for....

Not only magazine quality, but it would make a fantastic calendar or screensaver shot, too! :thumb:
